Buyer says item not received. Tracking says otherwise

He has been driving me mad with emails and is actually being quite rude. I keep sending him photos of the receipt and he keeps saying he cant read them ( even though last one taken with a really good resolution). This morning I find Paypal have frozen my payment but then after lunch get a message to say E-Bay found in my favour. End of story as far as I am concerned.
End of story unless the buyer is genuine and decides to take it to court...Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

At this stage I don't really see how the buyer can be trying it on.
As a seller this has happened to me a few times, I've had proof of delivery yet I item was not delivered. One went to a dispute that I put the delivery details in to and I won the case. I still pursued the courier and won a claim there and got the buyer their item.
Delivery people lie as much, if not more, than sellers, i always assume I'm being told the truth unless I have strong evidence otherwise..0 -
Sounds to me like person delivering it signed for it themselves and left it in flat communal hallway.
As a seller I would be asking for a copy of their driving license showing their signature and asking if the buyer has evidence of where they were when it was delivered.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')

Don't be too sure.
We had an apparently clear case of a delivery made and signed for. Buyer lost Ebay case so opened Paypal not received case and lost that. Then changed it to "not as described" case - they also lost that one. Then did a chargeback - they lost that as well. We thought that was it but no, their bank appealed the decision on the chargeback and Paypal refunded them (but out of their own funds, not our account). It dragged on for weeks though; it was a right nightmare.0 -
It transpires there are many flats in his building and he has question these people too. But nobody has admitted signing for them.
This is why I don't "Deliver to Neighbour" you don't know who gets on with who. And I don't sign for anything having heard and read horror stories of parcels going missing or left it in communal areas unless it states so on the parcel or customer has given permission.0 -
As a seller I would be asking for a copy of their driving license showing their signature and asking if the buyer has evidence of where they were when it was delivered.
To start with the signatures rarely match anything. I sign for stuff most days and would guess that about one in 50 come anywhere near the signature on my driving licence. Most days it's just a squiggle, if the buyer is lying they would have just used a different name, the fact that the signature is in the buyer's name would signal that they were telling the truth.
As for asking them to prove where they were at the time of delivery, as a buyer in that situation I would be livid being asked that.
The very first step is to check with whoever delivered it, they may well own up to delivering it to a different address or leaving it in a dustbin. There needs to be cooperation between buyer and seller, not antagonism and anymosity. It may well be that they have both been ripped off by deliverer and/or some dodgy neighbour..0 -

You were always going to win the case.
A good seller would be disputing the claim with the carrier. I haven't ever lost a disputed carrier claim and I always either refund or replace the item for the buyer when the claim is settled.
However, you failed to insure the item for the correct value, so you would lose out if you refunded the buyer in full.0 -
Let me get this right ... RM RD insurance of £50 only covers items up to the value of £50, not part thereof? So if an item is valued (or sold for) £80, your compo will be nada0

No, your compensation is up to the value of your insurance or the value of the item, whichever is lower.0
