I do try to do as much as the house stuff as possible so oh doesn't have to do much. But I am terrible at being tidy and tidying up. Oh is so much better and efficient. I can spend ages tidying, feel really pleased with what I've done but then it doesn't actually look any tidier!
am working on this!
Oh no, sorry lovely - totally didn't mean to offend you - I meant that you are awesome for doing that! :A (...and that I am a stubborn so-and-so around the house)
So...yesterday didn't really turn out as planned so I still have a few things on my list from yesterday:- Need to cut the grass - save on gardener fees
- Brekkie from stores - pain au chocolat treats
- Trip to @ldi spurred on by last week's low spends...
- Get OH to update YNAB :A
- Call mum/sis with free weekend minutes
- Teaching tonight
- Making good use of net flix with some gossip girl - completely addicted and only on season 2 so lots more binge watching for me
- Trip to the tip to get rid of recycling and other junk
- Signed up for Penzu - free online journal :A
Take care everyone!
Legomum - I hope you get well soon!!
BB - same to your OH!
Cat - I think I feel the same about teaching tonight as you do about tutoring - we can get through it! I know it will be fine when I get there - it's just the thought
Ally - you are awesome!! :T My debt-free plan is 4 years long so I just can't even imagine it yet, never mind a year later. Go girl :A

Oh and I got a new book from the library yesterday only to find I have read it. Would it be OK to buy a book for the kindle do you think? Need to see what I can find for 99p or less.

Cheers. You'll be there before you know it.Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0 -
Just checking in... I'm pretty much a newbie here..
It's quite a lovely day here up north, by the sea. We're off to a theme park which is ten minutes walk from us (we have annual passes and these have already paid for themselves the amount of times we've been. My son loves it). We'll take a picnic with us and spend a few hours enjoying the rides and weather.
Today's List
- Make up picnic to take with us, include additional snacks to stop us spending.
- Check online banking.
- Pay a debt to credit card (may be little amount or more, I throw money at it when I feel like it).
- Relook at this month's budget.
- Draw cash out for my sons activities for the month (this is costly, but he enjoys it).
- Batch cook two meals to put in the freezer.
- Chop any veg left over and freeze.
- Rearrange freezers. I get OCD about this.
- Send some emails to work contacts.
I'm sure I can think of more to do later. Will update tonight.[STRIKE]superhero.[/STRIKE]
current debt as of 11/7/16: £1000.
all I want is to live a simple but pleasurable lifestyle and be happy.0 -
Nice to meet you Dontletmeletyougo sounds like that pass is worth every penny.
Legomum glad to hear you are being looked after.
Dawn it sounds like you have a very nice life and peace of mind is so important. Worth more than blowing it on a holiday.
Ally it's an inspiration to see someone work their way out of debt and stay clear and save lots in a year post.
Today's money saving
1. Found another triple points coupon! I will be getting triple points from here to eternity at this rate.
2. Have eaten 2 frogs, cleaned the nappy box out. This is the box we use to keep nappies, wipes, cream etc in. It has survived since first use 7 years ago and just gets a bit dusty from being sat on the floor in the bedroom. So that's done. Also cleaned out the soap draw of the washing machine as it was jammed up to the hilt with old fabric softner etc and it's been annoying me for weeks. So polishing my halo now
3. Done a load of washing and line dried it.
4. Meals from stores
5. Walked to the park and back
6. Filled in CTF transfer form. That was dull . Had to write it out twice so they can have your details on one page and details to send to the old provider on the other. Plus discovered there was no business reply envelope in the transfer pack. Which I think is poor for the Nationwide.
7. Did a load of filing. My in tray is completely clear.
8. Did a load of shredding but think my shredder is now broken so that's not quite so money saving. Although it is about 5 years old and only cost £10
9. Updated debts and investment spreadsheet.
10. OH is going to cut the lawn later when it cools down.
11. OH cut his own hair earlier (all about cutting things today for him) he uses clippers.

* Off to the local Highland Games. This year there is no entrance fee. Will park for free and then take the train one stop.
Thanks for the kind words everyone.
Had a wonderful afternoon out with DW. Spent a grand total of £3.20 on the train fare for the two of us. Bumped into a friend. Didn't spend £5 on a burger from the van. Didn't buy nasty souvenirs. Did have a go at the free shot putt competition to win a bottle of whisky; failed. :rotfl: The sun was shining so that's free Vitamin D.

Also ticked from my list.
1. Go through enormous laundry bag sack full of girls clothes that were given and decide what to keep and what to send to charity. That has taken me 7 months so far!
2. Take out of draws any baby clothing too small and decide what to do with it. Now draws full of 6 to 9 month stuff ready for next stage.
3. Filled another charity bag ready for Friday." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Eesh Bob - I can't believe that you're sorting 6-9 month clothes already. Where has that time gone to?
Sun came out this afternoon so I too have been enjoying some free Vitamin D - It's been much needed for the mood.
LaE - Hope that teaching has gone ok. I've survived mine.crazy_cat_lady wrote: »

So I met up with bestie for a coffee in M&S - didn't spend though as it was her turn to pay. We met up near h0bbycraft and had a good long wander round there. I spent absolutely nothing :j

I take a re-usable ice-block to work. It keeps my lunch cool, then, while I'm eating, I use the ice-block to cool whatever part of me if aching.(My work is very physical.) Then I bring it home, give it a wash, and fling it back in the freezer for the next day.
