Now I have worked out how to filter it! How about floating text when you hover over the thumbs down icon to tell you the meaning of clicking? Actually this a rather fun way of fast-browsing what Ebay has to offer semi-randomly.

Have thought of an application I'd like: A sort of artificial intelligence Ebay browser that will search for a category of things based on approximate sort of product and price range, able to be set to "ending soon" items, combined with the fast browsing mechanism offered here by TypoTrawler. Or does it already exist?

Anything you can do about giving something a thumbs down just before it cycles to the next item... resulting in the wrong one getting flagged?

    Hi

We normally ask that site users don't advertise their own websites on the forum and Jo_b rightly took this thread down. As it could be useful to some MoneySavers though and it's good to get feedback we've decided to re-open it.

    Andrea :)

Thanks very much! We've had a lot of useful suggestions from these forums already... keep them coming :)
i liked it, would be better if it showed more than 2 things at a time though... i speeded it up as it was going to slow then i missed things lol

We made the decision to automatically resize the number of items displayed based on your screen resolution. I agree that 2 items really isn't enough... how many other people are only seeing two? If this is a common problem, we'll look into fitting more items on the screen at the same time.

Another very valid point. We'll definitely look into this... the problem is doing it in such a way as to be helpful, but also not being annoying.

    Hi,
Is there anyway you could add a health and beauty section please.
Thanks for any help and advice given

  • What do you think about a category containing the 'Health & Beauty' and 'Home & Garden' categories from eBay?

We have to group things up to an extent, otherwise there wont be enough items to browse through in each section of our website. One suggestion has been to give users a list of all the eBay categories and then they can select which individual ones they want to view at the same time. What do you think about this?

Well, it would save me trawling through the sporting goods when I'm more interested in books :)

Well I made practical use to TypoTrawler today - by browsing for nothing in particular in the techy section, found a nice mp3 player and won the auction at a good price.

I was lying awake last night thinking through this problem and at 1am I had a notebook full of scribblings :) The solution isn't as complicated as I had though at first, so I'll be starting development of it today... hopefully the new system will be online tonight :D
