  • Don't be too disappointed when it doesn't arrive until the middle of the month (my last two have been paid on the 13th & 15th).

Thanks Yorkshire Boy. I assumed it would be the same timetable as Halifax Rewards but, having now checked the T and C's, I see that they will pay the monthly reward not later than the last business day of the month after the month concerned.

    Hello everyone!
Just a little tip, literally just got off the phone for my switch.
I (maybe a good thing to help others) upon opening my new account online (14 days ago) so 11th May, decided to transfer in £1000 just to show I have money to give them.
When I rung today to switch over after all paperwork/card/pin arrived I was told that as I had put money into the account I was no longer eligible for the switching bonus as I supposedly became an existing customer as soon as I put money into the account?
When I said it does not state this ANYWHERE on their T&C's online the guy politely put me on hold to check, when he came back he apologized and stated that he agreed it didn't say it anywhere and offered me the incentive but was going to make a note as that is what it says in the T&C's he had in front of him to read out.
The guy throughout the call was actually very professional, polite and showed good service but maybe one to watch out for or something coming in soon......

I am surprised that the CS made this mistake in the first place.
At the Co-op bank home page it states,
"Excludes existing customers paying in £800+ per month from 03/02/16 to 03/05/16 and any recipients of previous switching incentives."
So 11th May is just fine.
Might be worthwhile taking a screenshot of that page for the record; just in case!

By the sounds of what he was saying, the T&C's he had on computer in front of him were different to those advertised on their website as he told me he put me on hold to go and check the website...
    Already screenshotted ;)

Does anyone have the phone number to call in order to switch?

Or can you just use their general enquiries number?

I was told that it takes about 25 minutes on the phone.
So I made an appointment at my local branch which is in the area we go shopping.
Took debit card from the old bank, ID and one utility bill as address proof. It was a smooth process and no possibility of errors with numbers and such on the phone.

there us an 0800 number on the website. I used that and asked them to transfer me. Waiting time was 10 minutes or I would not have bothered with the 0800.

I searched around at co-operativebank website. Only 0800 number I could find was for Britannia Savings enquires.
If it not against MSE policies, pls post the number here.
    Cheers!

    After you've opened an account
    Pick your switch date
Once your account is open, just call us on 08000 284 284 (call charges apply), or visit us in branch to complete the switch request.
We will ask you to choose a switch date which is when you would like the switch to be finalised. The switch date can be as little as 7 days after you ring up to switch.
Our dedicated switching team will manage the switch of all your Direct Debits, standing orders, bill payments and your salary.
