Hi Ive gone for this 2 so far so good though applied early in May got phone call from coop asking which account I liked to switch .switch date was yesterday and everything has gone well all dd's and payments switched old account closed and dd's coming out of new account ok so all in all very pleased was not sure that I was doing the right thing but am impressed so far.just a few weeks for the switching bonus

Glad to hear that it has gone smoothly. That was my experience as well. Switch completed on 25 May and now waiting for the incentive to be paid into my Co-operative account. As I recall (haven't checked the T and C's recently), the incentive is due to be paid within 45 days of the switch date. I do wish, though, that the banks offering these offers would let switchers know as soon as the switch is completed that everything is okay and that the switch will be paid, and giving the date when it will be paid. Having jumped through the hoops set up by these ever more elaborate schemes, it's rather cruel to leave switchers in limbo for (up to) 45 days wondering if they have qualified. I see that the new £150 + £50 HSBC offer stipulates for up to 70 days between completion of the switch and payment of the initial £150.

I was told that it takes about 25 minutes on the phone.
So I made an appointment at my local branch which is in the area we go shopping.
Took debit card from the old bank, ID and one utility bill as address proof. It was a smooth process and no possibility of errors with numbers and such on the phone.

Thanks for this - rang them half an hour ago and switch date all sorted.

When I called through it said 10 mins waiting time (turned out to be 5) then the whole process took 8 minutes which including setting up Internet banking details and the operator reading all the T&Cs gumph and whatnot and providing them with the old account and card details to be switched. Hopefully in 45 days time I shall be the recipient of £150. :)

  • Just to keep people updated I applied for this a few days ago going through TCB for the £52 cashback and the Co-op landing page has now changed and does mention the £150 switching bonus. When I tried this previously it didn't mention it unless you went direct to the Co-op site instead of from TCB.

I'm hoping I will now get both. The TCB has tracked already and I took a screenshot of the Co-Op page in case of any issues on that side.

In case anyone missed, there is another £48 / year up for grabs, for little effort.
For an £800 per month pay in there is a £4 monthly Reward.
I set up an SO from another bank to Co-op for £800.
And an SO for £800 to the other bank after 4 days.
Must remember to log in every month though!
  • You also need to pay out 4 different DDs per month.
  • Switch completed on 25 May. Incentive £150 paid into account today, 22 June. Well within the 45 day period.

Very easy switch. No hassle, no branch visits. Incentive paid as promised.

    Highly recommended.

I'm keeping the account for the ongoing £4 monthly Reward.

My switch completed on 27 May and incentive paid today (24 June), so looks like it is 28 days for the incentive to come through.

Do these DDs have to be ACTIVE DDs (they must pay out each month) or can you have these as One-off payment type DDs?

It says Active DD, but most banks have a different take on what is classed as Active.

So with the Co-op, do you have to pay out EACH month, or will a ONE-off DD do? - This won't be in the T&Cs
