I wouldn't ask Co op or TCB for advice! Worst that can happen is one or both don't payout but you can't be disqualified for doing both;)
Good to know it's worked for both in the past. My worry is that if I go through TCB I wouldn't get the £150 with there being no mention on the co-op landing page.bristolleedsfan wrote: »Did you complete form that is on landing page and go onto next page.
Not yet as I'd posted here for advice first. I didn't want to risk missing the £150 by going through TCB!Chris0 -
I have not got Smile Current account. I do have Coop bank and already get Everyday incentive, so already have 4DD and I never miss pay £800 each month to my Coop account. But I have not got Smile account.
This is the T&C is saying
"5.1 you are an existing customer and an average of £800 or more per month has been credited to your Co-operative Bank or smile current account between 3 February 2016 and 3 May 2016, or between your account opening and 3 May 2016 if that is a shorter period of time; or"
This is not clear whether they treat Coop and Smile account separately. I have got the above in my coop account but not in my Smile account.
Just want opinion whether it is worthy to try to apply for Smile account to bag £150 incentive ???0 -
5. You will be eligible for this offer if you are an existing customer unless:
Seems clear to me. You are eligible unless you meet term 5.1 (the one you posted). You meet 5.1.0 -

No my response was in relation to getting the incentive with Smile as well as COOP
I was aware that they already had had the incentive from COOP, both T&C's say you dont qualify is you have already had an incentive from COOP or Smile, so that was my answer.
Although already mentioned Adidas didnt qualify due the funding criteria anyway as they had been funding COOP with £800 to get the rewards.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Banking & Borrowing, and Reduce Debt & Boost Income boards. Someone said that they consider Coop and Smile separately. It might also they do not communicate each other ....
I have been funding Coop, but Smile as I have not got smile account, so I will try to apply if the chance of getting it quite high. What do you think ???
I definitely consider it seriously after also looking that in TCB they also give cashback of £50.40. I just set up 4 DD from my dummy account e.g one of my Nationwide flex account. I will just need until my 4 DD kick on which is about ten days from now. I will make up my mind by then whether risk worth taking ....0 -
From the Smile incentive T&Cs...4. You will be considered an existing customer if you already have a Co-operative Bank or smile current account of any type as at 3 May 2016.5. You will be eligible for this offer [ie the Smile offer] if you are an existing customer unless:
5.1 you are an existing customer and an average of £800 or more per month has been credited to your Co-operative Bank or smile current account between 3 February 2016 and 3 May 2016, or between your account opening and 3 May 2016 if that is a shorter period of time; or
It is possible of course that you may sneak through and get it...but if they're on the ball you won't.
Then again, they may look at the management of your all your accounts across the group and close all of them, thereby losing you £48 over the next year.0 -
The T&C is clear. All you will be risking is your time. They won't close your accounts as they will just give you the smile account you applied for, which you are allowed, it is just the bonus which is in question.
I would say the odds are very poor of getting the £150. The chance of getting just the TCB offer is higher as their t&c are a lot less specific.0 -
I initially discounted this offer as not eligible. however I might chance my arm. Their condition, 5.1 says "account" (singular). So a new account that hasn't been funded with £800pm should qualify. Right, well probably not but nothing to lose here.0

I use to have both Smile and COOP accounts and only got the incentive from one (Smile) as they are the same bank (apart from smile being the internet bank arm of COOP,)
After I applied I called and set up the rewards, as you couldnt do this online, they (COOP) knew about my Smile account, so I would say they will be connected via back office systems.
I did get the TCB incentive for opening the COOP account which was the reason I opened it.
I have switched out Smile account to M&S(to get a gift card) now so I only use the COOP account.
