Just a quickie and not related to the hog issue - if anyone does get fleas then your council will come around and treat the house for you - mine did it for £15 with repeat visits free if it doesn't work the first time. Obviously this is no good for your critters but it means that once you've treated them you can treat the whole of your house effectively and quite cheaply.

I'd love to have a hedghog as a garden resident. I've been seriously infested with slugs and snails. I spent ten days getting rid of two hundred+ per day!

    Do the sums :)

Anyway - if you're very lucky it may not be a hedgehog at all.

Brag brag brag brag brag! :p

    I'm green with envy!

What I can't understand is given the (formerly) HUGE population of slugs and snails that I had that I never ever saw a hedgehog in the garden! :(

omg cw its like having a 2nd mortgage:eek: .when you get rid of the fleas this time you could try giving them garlic capsules, and brewers yeast. This works for my 2 dogs(and was recommended by ny vet)
how do you give them these...as the stuff I got from the pet shop seems to have worked...where will I get these things from...a chemist or just anywhere...thanks:D

  • He has charged you what?? Even a 3 months upply of Frontline only costs around £20. What on earth has he been using that is charging £25 a month each pet. Sorry but that is wrong, I know vets are expensive but there is no way it can cost that much - so he has been charging you £150 for the treatment (£25 each) and another £25 for the spray? OMG - sorry but something is wrong there. I would seriously be having a word and changing vets!
have had a word if the vet and spoke to a solicitor friend of mine about this also basically he can charge what he want's as he is the only vet here...have found out though that there is a free clinic in another town over in the next county which is about 30 miles away...so it will be worth every penny to go there in future...the vet wont give me any money back on what he's used...

Knowing our council they would come out and put a coat over the dog :D We got loads of woodworm around our toilet, so they came out and put plyboard over the top of it, so we don't see it anymore :rotfl:

spoke to council 1st...it's £52 pounds here just for the house not the animals which looking back would have been awhole lot cheaper than the vet...but at least if they had to come back it would have been free the next time...
