Its none of my business how much she pays for her insurance, all i know is the minimum age is 21 - i am 25 so this is not a problem for me.
- It does not really matter who she is with or the exact wording. I have had a phone call from the insurance company explaining that i am covered. so that is why i said the advice was no longer needed.
I understand i was in the wrong at the time and just very lucky that the owner had good insurance. It is something i will not be doing again unless i am totally sure.0 -

Now I can say that I don't believe a single word that you have written in any of your posts - including the last one - especially the last one.
Jog on.
Have a nice day.0 -
On my previous policy with admiral i was covered fully comp on my car & third party to drive other cars but you had to be over the age of 25.
The company i am with at the moment only covers the policy holder not the name driver.
The police have made an incident - i contacted the police before thinking i wasnt covered however this isnt the case any more so the police have told me that it is important i check my policy next time and that i was very lucky this time.0 -

Were you the policyholder? The company i am with at the moment only covers the policy holder not the name driver.
That's absolutely normal.0 -

Admiral's own website is clear that it's policyholder only.

Obviously, that's a marketing translation of the actual policy Ts & Cs, and it may have changed since, but...0 -

Just to clarify, cover for Any Named Driver to driver other cars with Comprehensive Cover is standard on a Hiscox or Chubb Policy. It's also available on some of the Family / Home Fleet Policies, some offer comprehensive DOC and some offer TPO DOC0

Although, "any driver with permission" cover, which is what seems to have saved the day here, must be pretty rare nowadays?
Dad always had it as we were growing up, and I had it on my first policy back in the 80s, but haven't seen it offered since then. Which doesn't mean it doesn't still exist of course, but it certainly ain't common!0
