I may be wrong about this OP, but not every new poster is Dark, but the regulars jump in a bit too quick to assume they are

Advice was no longer needed as I am actually cover third party on my friends insurance. Her policy covers anyone to try it and covered third party.
That can't be right - insurers don't blanket cover for any other unknown person. If anything it would still require you to have your own policy which you don't as you are only a named driver on another policy.

When people include the words "dark" and "matter" in a sentence it isn't just because it is thought to be DM, but rather a catch all phrase for when there is a suspicion that there is some trolling the forum.

That's the way I look at it.

Personally, I think it's quite tedious and I'd wish you and others would give it a rest.

I don't mind calling out DM when I know for sure it's him but to constantly do this sort of thing to new posters is not on.

That's very lucky for you - but very, VERY unusual.
On our previous cover with another company it covered all drivers on the insurance policy to drive other cars

    Again, that's very, VERY unusual.

You've been lucky this time. There's a lesson to be learnt - don't assume, especially when it's so quick and easy to check and the downside can be so serious.

Your friend's policy covers any drver, and also covers any driver to drive other cars (third party)?

So I can cancel my insurance and, if stopped, just say "I'm covered on icegem9's friend's policy". And so can everyone else on the forum.

Seems to good to be true.

I think they meant that the car owner's own insurance was an any-driver policy. Not that they have a friend with any-driver DOC.

The car owners policy allows anybody with a fully drivers license to drive car and they will be covered third party.

I was told this was a good place to get advice however i feel that most comments have been unfair towards me. so wont be using it again.

That would be MASSIVELY unusual, and almost certainly very expensive indeed. Is there any minimum age specified?

Who's the policy with, and what does the exact wording say?

Regarding the police they were really helpful. I went to them as I'm an honest person and new it was the best thing to do as I admitted to being in the wrong.

    Well we need advice now.

Re your previous policy - how did it cover all drivers on the policy to drive other cars? That's very hard to believe.

Re Police - so what was the final outcome? have they charged you with an offence, or told you to 'go away and don't do it again'. That too would be hard to believe.

I think that you have been given excellent advice considering your first post turns out to be unclear / ambiguous.

Then finally we have this fantastic statement:

Which insurer offers such a policy?
