We've tried this version, only 7g sugar per serving. The kids loved it and we get it in a local cheap shop for only £1 a box.£36/£240

Day 20 and still no cravings. I wish I could say there never will be, but I'll feel a lot more confident when I get to day 90.
Made a batch of banana bread last night - well actually it was a HM fruit pulp of carrots, dates, and bananas mixed with rapeseed oil, wholemeal bread flour, mixed spice, baking powder and a handful of tiny currants. So a v slightly sweet bread, but with a lower fat proportion than my previous attempt last week. The good thing about it is it keeps well for a few days if there is no-one around to eat it (I saved a piece from last week for quality control purposes).
Yesterday was such a lovely hot day, have decided my new unlimited treat instead of croissants is iced coffee made with skimmed milk, which will also give me a bit of protein.
Will keep an eye out for the Weetabix but stay away from the crunch version - much easier to control my portions of the biscuits, will loose cereal I just keep on munching until it's goneValue-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Your banana bread recipe sounds good, I must try it.
I've been doing well overall, no processed white stuff at all. Then I get home this evening to find a massive chocolate cake looking at me from the fridge... *sigh*
Did I mention i have NO willpower? It's all very easy when I have nothing in the house to tempt me but this is just cruel:(I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.

I quit sugar a week and two days ago. Ive gained a lot of weight recently and I'm desperate to shift it so sugar has to go. The first few days were fine. Now im thinking about jam donuts all day long...and diet coke. Beautiful wonderful diet coke. I know most of my cravings are emotional. I use sugar and diet coke to cheer me up. Now there is a void and im feeling rather low. Im determined to stick with it. Im going full no carb next week in the hope that helps.0

I found keeping myself topped up with carbs actually helped me stick to no sugar during the first initial phase - that meant eating toast / Weetabix whenever I wanted, quite different from not eating all day as I am used to! Not a weight loss tip by any means but as a short-term means of succeeding, and got me through the trickiest part of the month
Yesterday was the most challenging for me, simply because didn't have time to eat. By 7pm I felt like I could stuff myself with sugar to satisfy my hunger - luckily I was stuck in traffic on the A406. When
I got home I had a carb-laden (HM) potato salad sandwich and felt right as rain afterwards!

You do know that potatoes raise blood glucose levels more than sugar? I know you are transitioning but don't stay with simple carbs too long. If you are going to eat carbs, it will be important to start including complex carbs to help with cravings. If you are not vegetarian then meat and eggs are a good source for fullness. Boil some eggs to take with you when you aren't going to have time to fix breakfast the next morning. There are lots of tricks that diabetics use to stay off sugar. I know you are not diabetic but it might help you to peruse some online tips for snacks etc.If you stay with just bread and potatoes the sugar cravings are never far away.
This is a new way of eating.Overprepare, then go with the flow.

I resisted the chocolate cake this evening surprisingly easily. I had dinner and a cup of quite strong coffee afterwards and I wasn't even tempted. I'm amazed.
I find the routine of workdays easy - coffee for breakfast, soup and/or salad for lunch and dinner in the evening - no problem. Over the next couple of weeks I have lots of travelling and irregular hours which will be more challenging. It's all too easy to reach for a sugar fix if I'm feeling tired, this will be a bit of a learning curve.
Looking at labels and ingredients... I switched to Lighter than Light mayonnaise some time ago as there are 70cals/100mls vs 668cals/100mls in regular mayo.
However, there is sugar in both: 4.1g/100mls in the lighter than light version vs 1.2g/100mls in the regular.
The sugar content in ketchup is worse - 22.8g/100mls
So no excuse - they're both gone and I have to make my own in future, which will be far healthier anyway.I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.

I just remembered that fairly recently there was a tv show where a group of celebs had to live entirely sugar free, fruit and all, might be an interesting watch. Sadly I can't remember the name of the show or which channel it was on, which is very helpful.
Hi
That would be 'Sugar Free Farm' and I can't remember the channel either though there were ad breaks.
It was interesting because they had someone keeping them strictly in line (mostly).
I am struggling with the want of sugars currently too. The more I indulge the more I want and I really want that bad stuff! I am tentatively trying to increase my satiety by choosing plain almonds and brazils when I can instead.Do I Need One Stops All Unnecessary Reckless Spending£2 CSC - £30 :kisses3:0 -
This is a great discussion. I've been eating sugar in large quantities for years and would dearly love to cut it down drastically. I'm 46 and have recently been diagnosed with osteo arthritis. I've researched this condition and found out that stopping eating sugar can drastically reduce or even reverse this disease. I've got a great incentive to stop eating sugar but lack the power to do it beyond about three weeks. I hope I can get strength from you all on here because by God I need it!!0
