I have another viewing today at 12 noon. I feel like drinking malibu straight from the bottle at the back of the drinks cupboard with a sorta crusty neck where it's been stood since last Christmas, and offering the prospective buyers burnt crumpets / small pieces of ham chopped up for the dogs, it's driving me insane.... this is my 3rd move, never EVER again - EVER

:rotfl:Oh that did make me laugh. Sorry they didn't turn up, probably they'd heard you'd finished the malibu.

    Update for me:

Buyer pulled out! Decided to ignore phone calls from the EA rather than actually admit it and it all came to a head today. So we're back on the market. Feeling surprisingly zen about the whole thing and going to try to not think about it too much until the new year - whatever happens, happens!

Why! Why do people do that?! We had one who did something similar, went off to visit her mother, became uncontactable we only found out when we checked to see if we had exchanged. Apparently they don't have phones in Devon. She'd gone to visit her mother.......

Hope you get a better buyer and a better offer, which is what happened with us.

Thank you Slinky and sorry this happened to you too - utterly bonkers isn't it? I wonder about some people's morals.

The EA selling the house we wanted to buy is trying to get us on their books as they think they could get us a buyer (for a fee, of course  ) I said I am loathe to pay two lots of EA fees and there is still no guarantee they'd actually find anyone and then what? They want to get 'the boss' to ring me at 4 though, either way.

Pigletfeet, is there really no malibu left?? I think I need some

After 12 months and only 9 viewings in that time, we ditched the online agent this week and put it on with a local one.

"If we can't sell it, no one can!"

    Fingers crossed.

Chickenmama after we had our buyer drop out we appointed another agent alongside our existing one, telling the first we'd only pay them single agency fee not dual agency fee, which they were happy enough with. The second agent was happy to accept the same fee arrangement as the first one seeing that they then got the chance of selling ours which they'd missed out on when we appointed the first agent. We dictated terms to the agencies and they accepted them. In the end it was the original agent who found the buyer we eventually sold to.

  • Bummer chickenmama!
    What rude people.
  • Can I join?! :j

Only two weeks on the market, but several viewings and no takers. :-( I'm starting to resent the constant cleaning/tidying/smoothing duvets/straightening towels and finding places to hide the kids!

    Err....sometimes we don't, when it's mobiles.

But it's astonishing how many tradesmen seem to be working in dead spots when they're needed urgently! ;)
  • Ditto the mobile thing.

I'm back here! We're putting our house back on the market. It'll go live Monday. I know they say don't sell in the winter. I'm cautiously optimistic, after all you won't know till you try!
