Just got a call from a 0141 number (Glasgow) which I wasn't going to answer, anyway, she asked me my security details, date of birth, mothers maiden name etc, then after all that, said they have had time to review my application but it's not been accepted and a letter will be posted
I have to admit, it's a new low to get called when you get declined, it's proper rubbing salt into the wound lol. I have heard of getting called for approvals, but to receive a call for a decline, well. lol
Mine however wasn't a straight approval, more of a WE HOPE TO GIVE you a card, so maybe it was referred, too good to be declined, too crap to be approved
Good luck to you all, hope the card is good for ya :T
Thanks for the heads up, I'm fully expecting a decline as I got the 'we MAY be able to give you a card' message. I was discharged from bankruptcy in June 2014 so it's not surprising really 😳 Oh well, at least I know to not answer an 0141 call, getting a decline phone call really does sound mean, surely the letter would suffice!

What was the limit and APR they quoted you?.
They quoted me £250 @ 39.9 % 😕 I just received this by text
We tried to contact you today regarding your credit card application. Please contact us on 0345 3662709 to discuss the reason for our call
They didn't try to call but I'd imagine it's the same as the call rich got, thanks but no thanks 😕
Oh well, I only wanted it to get a bit more positive history on my credit report, I still have 3 years till my credit report is clean so I still have plenty of time.

After reading all this about phone calls i just called them up to make sure my card was definitely coming and they said my account is already setup and gave me my login details to view my credit limit etc and said my card was on the way so looks like a yes, i did get the (You have been accepted) message online though and not the (You might be accepted) so was pretty certain about it, my card is at 39.9% and limit is £250, hopefully this will change once i've established a good history with them, hopefully can move to their lower APR cards then.0

I managed to apply for a card with the rep. APR of 27.5% and a limit of £250.00.
Haven't stumbled across it myself but I wonder if you manage the account well they'd lower the APR?It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -

Did they give you a reason for the decline? You could always try capital one or vanquis they are BR friendly.0 -

I didn't stick around long enough to find out but they probably thought I had access to enough credit as it was as I have vanquis, £3500 limit, capital one £200 and cash plus £1000. Obviously I only use them to pay petrol ect and pay the full balance by DD.
I'll probably leave it 6 months and try for an aqua card as they seem to be good with limit increases and I can get rid of the cash plus. The cash plus is fine but it irritates me they don't do DD, it's like they want you to slip up!
