Could you live with pylons close by?

Seen this house and its stunning but for the pylons! Anyone have any experience of living by them? Any issues with noise or interference with satellite tv or anything.

  • It will be harder to sell on because a lot of people are put of by them.

If it is priced to reflect that then I wouldn't have a problem
  • Same here.

It looks dark to me, which would put me off. The pylons are very intrusive and will undoubtedly put some people off, including me I am afraid.

We have similar running over the top of our garden. We don't even notice them apart from the odd humid morning when they buzz slightly but it's only heard outside. They don't bother us at all and don't interfere with our sky or wifi or anything.

Thanks, i did hear someone before saying they make a slight buzzing noise when wet or damp.

How much are local similar properties without pylons? Xx

I wouldn't move near them personally.

I wouldn't have gone to view it. Probably an over reaction but I'd rather not have any niggling doubt about it once the question had been raised.

Different people have varying tolerances to physical reminders of our need for power, whether it's pylons, panels on the roof, or wind turbines.

I have an 11kv line running through my land. While I'd rather it went through someone else's, or underground, out here in the country, it's almost unavoidable.

    I wouldn't have a 132kv line, though!

That's the problem with this property when you come to sell; a much smaller pool of buyers who'll accept the lines. Those who will are also likely to want a decent discount for the perceived disadvantage, so if you decide to buy, make sure you receive yours.

I think they should've paid for a professional photographer! We're just in the process of buying a house with power lines over the land, but not actually over the house, I think from that picture, it would put me off, more from a resale point of view though, as a lot of people don't like them

How much do local properties sell without all those wires? I wouldn't want those wires over my garden but I accept that some people don't mind as long as it is worth their while.
