I don't mean it like that at all and surely you know that.
I just don't think your average resident of Richmond is particularly representative of London and on the whole probably don't have the same worries as your average zone 2-4 resident which accounts for most of London's population. I realise this is a huge generalisation.
Just my opinion, I might be wrong. Guess we'll find out at the end of the week.0 -
I also don't understand how anyone could vote for someone who resorts to this kind of campaigning. Absolutely disgusting.0

it says nothing of substance : what is actually being cut?0 -

I guess about the same as saying Corbyn, McDonnell and Abbott are long term supporters the IRA : but it would be wrong to mention that?0 -

Corbyn agreed with the IRA's political views, namely that the British should get out of Ireland. That is not "support of terrorism". What about Thatcher? She agreed with the Unionist's view that Britain should remain in Ireland, and the Unionists were murdering people as well: does that make her a "supporter of terrorism" too?
Do you honestly think that Sadiq Khan supports Islamic terrorism because of his religion? Do you think using the bus from the 7/7 London bombings is legitimate campaigning from a candidate to be Mayor of London?0 -

Corbyn et al met with the IRA shortly after the Brighton bombing and DID NOT condemn the killings :
McDonnell, of course wanted to HONOUR the IRA killers and was not disowned by his close mates Corbyn or Abbott.
The UK government frequently condemned NI killings of both parties.
I don't know whether Khan has shared platforms with people who wish to kill all GLBTs and all jews : do you know ? Does it make any difference to you?
Corbyn is on the TV saying he is against racism : who has he actually named and condemned?0 -
Is this 'cut' to disabled people actually a cut of just a planned increase being cancelled? - You know, like the 'bedroom tax' is just council tenants who have a spare bedroom no longer being piad to do so by the taxpayers who may well be poorer than them and living in much smaller accomodation paid for by housing benefit and is thus actually fair and progressive, things the haters object to.
It's only fair if they don't need that extra room e.g. for a carer AND if there is a smaller property for them to move to. The latter has often been lacking and penalising them for that is not fair.0 -

Except that if you are in private rented accomodation paid for by housing benefit as no council property is available and you then need to downsize you can't just say 'sorry there are no smaller properties available' you have to look for and take whatever is available. But fairness sis not the point is it.I think....0 -
Just wondered – were Sadiq Khan to be elected London mayor, what effect would that have on London's economy?
Definitely much less effect than a brexit for example where UK (and mainly London based) financial firms will lose MiFID passport access to the EU.Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0 -
I got my mayoral ad leaflet through last weekend, and depressing reading it was too. It was interesting to read how few actual concrete policies are stated by candidates amongst the vague "make everything more nicer" guff. Obviously they all promise more affordable housing and bobbies on the beat.
Can anyone remind me what Sadiq's dad did for a living? It's not at all clear. They are an EYESORES!!!!0
