The latest version is DirectX 9 C. The link I gave was for this version. It may be worth downloading it and installing this version. It may sort out your problems, and at least you'll know you have the latest version out there. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Seeing as the dxdiag test s didn't give you 100% good results. It may be worth downloading it again and reinstalling it. You version may be corrupted. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Just downloaded directx 9c. I'll have another go with Lara
I will return.0 -
I dont know if any of you have played the Tombraider games but when it starts you get a page where there are several icons on it and you can either start a new game or go into lara's house or change the sound. There are 5 or 6. I can get into that page but it only works for about 3 seconds and then it freezes, after a long while it starts for another 3 secs and then freezes again.
I'm still having to turn the computer off to get out of it. The music is still playing0 -
ok, lets try this one.
Right click on the blank desktop and click properties, click Settings tab. Now click advanced (near bottom) You should now have another box open. Select the troubleshoot tab.
That hardware acceleration slider could be worth a mess round with. Try turn it down 1 notch and either run dxdiag or tomb raider.
Try all the notches....
Does anyone know the best driver for the GF mx2 cards? Am I wrong by saying the newer drivers don't work that well for older technology.0 -
Ive got the same card.
Ive got Nvidia's latest driver and directX9c
Afraid the only game I play that is the least bit graphics hungry is sims2 and it manages that no trouble.
It cant manage splinter cell though.0 -

I've got 71.89 drivers
I had a play with the hardware accelerator and the game loads and starts, I can hear Lara in the background, but I've got a blank screen, it must be down too far. I'll keep trying.0 -
AGP is enabled0
