  • It's more of a problem solver. It will take your PC to the extremes of it's capabilities, and determine where you have problems. Stress Prime 2004 is an updated version of Prime95, with a better GUI.

    Prime95 is a problem solver.

    Also, goto start and click run. Type dxdiag in and press enter.

    You should see a directX version number at the bottom, what is it?

    Then goto 'display' tab and click the 'test direct draw/direct 3D' Does it crash?

    I did the tests. On the direct draw full screen I didn't see the bouncing white box.

    Are you running win98? Or winME?

    Windows xp.
    I thought Direct x 9 was the latest.

    It looks like your old version of DirectX is causing the problems. You need to update to DirectX9.

    oh sorry, thought you had DirectX5 then....

    Next thing i'd try do is turn hardware acceleration down one notch. That can be found in your display properties somewhere, I'll help later if noone else has.

    When I go into control panel and click on Directx it says it's version 9.
    Can I have 2 versions on the pc

    5.03.2600.2180 Unicode must be Version.9

    Can someone look to back that up?
