Games freezing

My grandson loves to play the Tombrader games and I have most of them.All of a sudden they wont play.
They install ok and you can hear the music but as soon as the game starts it freezes.
Even the compatability option wont work.
Games that Ive downloaded wont play either
Any gamers out there who can help me please

Do the games crash? Is it a blank screen when you can hear the music.

Firstly I suggest remove the Display Drivers from Add/Remove Progs in Control Panel and re-install with newer ones.

Before we can do that we need to know the make/model of your graphics card.

The screen doesn't go blank. I can see Lara but I can't move her.
I have a Nvidia Geforce 2 mx/mx400 and I've updated the drivers.
On all games I get the play screen but can't start the game

So the graphics look ok, no artifacts visable?

Does your keyboard work in-game? Can you press escape and it takes you to a menu/exit?

I try to 'esc' from the game but it doesn't wotk. I have to restart the computer to get out of it.

So it is hard crashing then. Can you run a screensaver? Does it crash?

Also, when you hear the music in tomb raider does it play ok or is it stuck in a never ending loop?

While you're thinking I'm going to put on an old Lara because I think the music does get stuck in some. Speak to you soon

These ones are the worst as it could be a whole host of problems.

When you start a game it puts ur p.c under strain. PSU takes more drain, CPU and GPU temps go up and more RAM gets used.

Can you try any other games from a fresh install?

You could try Prime95 to run a torture test to see if its hardware.

Just tried TR3, installed but got to the main menu and it didn't want to let me go through the options. Music was OK
What is Prime 95 is it a game or a problem solver
