Hi all - just a quick one before I get on the paraffin budgie and make my way to France. Thanks for the birthday wishes. I'll raise a glass (or two, or three or.......) to you. Many (((hugs))) to all who need them especially those who aren't feeling too good today, or who are worrying or didn't sleep. I'm hoping my DGD enjoys her first day at school!
I will miss you all and look forward to catching up when I come back on 16th.
Take care and have a great ten days whilst I'm away!

Morning All,
((((Hugs all around)))) - seems to be people need it!
Another disturbed night here, but due to OH this time. I made a dinner he really loved (Bangers, eggs, mushroom & onion gravy and baked beans) but seems his stomach complained about 1 am because he spent lots of the night up. Not sure when he came back to bed but he's still there and normally he leaves here at 5:30!
Yesterday seemed to be a big bust. Apart from a nice steady walk (on the flat so OH's knee didn't complain) everything seemed to take SOO long to get sorted. Oh well.
Plans for today - back to finish white paint upstairs and major hoovering up cat fluff from EVERYWhere....
....oh yeah, and to try to turn off the computer. Did you see the "outrageous wasters" on tv last night! Soo much coal is burnt to run a computer for 4 hrs I felt guilty. As we'd also just eaten pork sausages when they showed a pig being killed I also felt guilty about that - must dig out some veggie recipes.
Hope every1 has a nice day.0 -
Morning All
(((hugs))) for Kyle & Computerwoman
Happy Birthday for tomorrow Mioliere, safe journey.
Grey start again here today, not too much problem for me as plan is - school run - walk dog, home for quick tidyup then in my office for a couple of hours. First job will be to phone main client as they havnt paid me today as they should have - hope they are paying me tomorrow otherwise we will be in trouble. Then once finished that will be ironing - such joy.
Tonight we have Roast chicken for dinner am looking forward to that.
Yesterday when walking to school (we walk through fields which is known as the dog walk) a woman had a go at me as I had my staff puppy off the lead. She was miles behind me and my dog was nowhere near her. If she had asked it would have been completely different but she ordered. When we go to school she told me - I wasnt being rude but with all that has been on the news recently he should be on the lead. Before I could answer she was gone taking her puppy into the school playground. I wanted to tell her that that was a pit bull terrier raised and trained by a drug dealer not a family dog. I fully appreciate that people are wary of staffs and would havent had a problem had she spoken to me in a different manner. Anyway rant over - will be interesting to see if she is there this morning.
Have a great day.0 -
Morning All
Just about to jump into the shower before we go to town, dd is in need of some vests and possible a new pair of pj's. We are also going to choose a new cup for her as she has decided that she would like to ditch her bottle for milk (I'm very happy about that).
Later on I'm going to give her room a good clean out so I'll put her bedding into wash before we go out. Not sure whats for tea, need to check the meal plan.

Good morning
Drizzle is what we have this morning....lets see how long this takes to lift:rolleyes:
Nothing much to do today... managed to get ahead on all my chores yesterday :A ...it wasn't planned.. i just got carried away - never though i woud see the day when i would get carried away with housework:rotfl:
Toad in the hole tonight.... should have been yesterday, but we nipped out for some plants for the border i dug over yesterday - and hubby spotted a gyros/chicken vendor outside the gardencentre (there is one outside every supermarket etc) - so hubby decided he would have a Gyros "to save me cooking"...even though it was all pretty much prepared!!! but he paid for , so i left him to it... and half an hour after finishing eating it...guess who was in the bathroom??? :rotfl:
.... he came downstairs looking very sorry for himself, grumbling about.."rotten...fatty, proccessed garbbage" this creation is like kebab meat but all lamb , tzatziki, salad(dressed) chips and mayo.....and hubby seems surprised that its greasy.... OOOHHHH just so frogga knows.... i came home and had a tuna salad :A ... i really dont enjoy that proccessed stuff...plus i hate to think how many calories/fat is in there:eek:
So hubby has decided that its my fault-because he is used to fresh ingredients, and everything cooked from scratch- before we met he lived on these gyros things:eek:
Anyway im doing nothing much this morning , and then at lunch time im baysitting nextdoors 1 year old son , so thats my day i think... i was goint to put my plants in -but they can wait until the drizzle stops...
Hope everyone has a great day..:D-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Morning all
Just sitting here wasting time while I wait for the WM to finish. Then, once I have hung the clothes out on the line it's off to w*** for me. Oh Lucky Me:rolleyes: But, hey, how would I pay the bills otherwise.
I would love to be sitting out the back, knitting. Doing nothing else, but they won't pay me to do that. And that won't clean the house or feed the family - ho hum.
Going to try Aubergine and Tahini bake thingy from Nigel Slater's diary - finally something to use up the Tahini which has been sitting in the kitchen for some time now. Just need to buy the aubergine and some thyme (the slugs ate the thyme in the back yard - I hope they enjoyed it.)
Hugs to you all.
Pen Pin - you take care of yourself. Hope you enjoyed the shepherd's pie.
And happy birthday for tomorrow Mioliere - enjoy the trip."You can't get a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to suit me." - C.S. Lewis0 -

Morning all!
didn't get chance to read the rest of yesterdays thread so (((hugs))) all round to those in need! x
DH didn't get the job:( he was very upset and refused to talk about it at all last night. He did cheer up when I lent him the cash to buy a T3 pigeon clock - a digital clock for pigeon racing:rolleyes: - he's wanted one for ages and he needed cheering up as I'm away next week and he's left running the house!
I didn't get the chance to go to slimming world either so dont know how I got on - I dont weigh at home as my scales are not the same.Be 2 weeks now before my next weigh in, hope I can stay on the straight and narrow:rolleyes:
Happy Birthday for tomorrow Moliere and I hope you enjoy your holiday!
:bdaycake:
Am off to see the nurse soon for my Depro injection then later am meeting a friend in Ludlow for lunch.

Morning everyone,
kyle its natural for you to worry about DS's diabetes. How about writing down all your concerns then make an appointment with your doc to discuss them? As charlies mum says, if you have insurance and a credit card, there is nothing that can't be sorted out should it arise. Hope it doesn't take the shine off the holiday you have been looking forward to for so long. ((((hugs))))
computerwoman you have really been through the mill in recent years, haven't you? (((hugs)))
mioliere have a safe journey and a great birthday.
JackieO you may be missing your DGS but just think of the stories he will regale you with when he comes home from school.
Pen-Pin sorry you are feeling so bad at the moment. Hope its of short duration.
(((hugs))) to everyone who wants/needs one.
XDH is taking DS and DD to school today as I'm heading to job no2 in the opposite direction to their school. Gives me 10 mins on the computer before I leave.
Was sorry to hear of the death of Luciano Pavarotti today. I saw him perform in Glasgow years ago. His voice was incredibly rich and powerful. A real loss to the world of opera.
Am I the only one who has found the return to school exhausting? DS, DD and I have been in bed for 9.30pm each night and I am struggling to get up at 7.00. Will catch up on my sleep at the weekend and hopefully next week will be better.
I weighed myself today - I know I'm supposed to wait until Saturday but just couldn't resist. The weight is going down but I'm not going to say by how much as I know it fluctuates so I will save it for Saturday.
No idea what's for dinner yet. Haven't taken anything out of the freezer so better crack on and have a look before I go to w***.
Have a thrilling Thursday. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."
