OS Daily Thurs 6th sep

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for thurs 6 sep. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well

  • Morning Kyle ,computerwoman and Amie99 and all to follow,Kyle America is amazing I went in April and had a fantasic time :j .Their humour is a bit different to ours though, and my friend and I kept being taken for Australians I don't know why as I am an eastender by birth!.:rotfl: and the T.V.leaves a lot to be desired. The funniest programme on the t.v. is the news channel. A headline story can be made out of almost anything and it usually is .I hope you soon feel better and perk up a bit. Food very cheap though and the exchange rate is excellent at the moment

computerwoman you seem to have been through the wars lately haven't you still onwards and upwards my dear things can only get better

Hows the weather in Bognor Amie99, it looks a bit bleugh here at the moment ,looking out across the Medway River it's not looking as though the sun is going to put its hat on today, but who knows it could brighten up and at least its not raining
I have had a bit of a broken nights sleep as I am off to Maidstone Hospital to see the oncologist and see what little goodies they have lined up for me next in my fight to get rid of this grotty disease.Onwards and upwards as I said
I did all of my ironing with my left hand, and it took me hours ,but I wasn't going to give in and let it beat me .My DD told me off, and said I'm to cussed for my own good ,but I can't just sit around doing nothing .

All the grandchildren are back in school and the youngest Mikey had his 'induction day' yesterday. He starts part-time next Monday mornings only five days a week.I shall miss him dreadfully as he is such good company but it is important that he goes with all the other children and he seemed to enjoy it .

Well, left arm is starting to tire a bit now as I am typing with one finger of my left hand .Very frustrating and I have to keep correcting it but its the only way I can do it at the moment so its <<hugs>> for those who need 'em and a big fat:D for the rest of you

    Morning All

Susie - hope everything goes ok at the doc's

I had another run in with my boss yesterday. He's trying to make out I'm not doing my job - I can prove otherwise. He wants me out basically and is trying every method possible to get me to leave.

Stupid work computer is crashing over and over - nice to see where the money goes in this company

I was having a good week until he came in yesterday. It's like he brings a big black cloud with him

I need to pop out to get a birthday card later for one of my colleagues. Think I'll be leaving on time today as I've not motivation to be here at all

Right going to reboot the pc - back in a bit

  • Morning

Susie, you will have a fabulous time in Florida - if you have any worries about your Ds diabetes, have a chat with your doctor. You will find the doctors are great over there (hope you don't need them) and as long as you have insurance and a credit card, anything can be sorted out.

JackieO, one of my friends had a mastectomy yesterday, and I told her about you and your fabulous positive attitude. Unfortunately, she is a pessimist by nature and is finding it hard to see anything positive :o

My car has to go into the garage today, and I have no idea what it is going to cost. Anyway, 10p listing day today so if I can get a few thousand items listed, that might pay for it :rotfl:

Sausage casserole for dinner, thanks to whoever posted the slow cooker recipe, it is lovely :T

Hope everyone has a good one x

    Goodmorning everybody,

It's raining, freezing, windy & miserable here. :D It's a shame it's not elsewhere but looks like we're hogging it all for ourselves. Went to Mass on the island this morning and then came home to make a big pot of soup. After lunch been mooching around with DH. Too wet to paint. ;) It won't dry and the fumes will stay indoors.

Kyle Try and not worry too much. I'm sure you'll get ds1 diabetics under control & you will get on fine. It' just because you're feeling a bit low atm that you have doubts.
Shez How did DH's interview go? Hope it went well for him.
TiredMum Great news on the jobs. What is the second one? Never heard of that before.
Amie Hope everything goes well for DD & school.
Computerwoman That is young for a stroke. (((hugs))) and I"m glad you are on the mend.
Twink Try and behave yourself with the mechanics father. :)

Hope you all have a great day. Byeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

Morning everyone, hope you are all good, i havent had time to read the thread yesterday, hard to believe now im a child free zone in the day, but i havent had a spare minute!!
Had to run around after my sister on tuesday when her son went in hospital, then yesterday spent the day shopping for tuck shop items for football and then a friend called in for coffee, she has brought me a real coffee machine!! She didnt use it and thought i would, it is great warm coffee all day and tastes so much better than instant.!!

Ds1 loves secondary school, im so pleased how well he has taken it all, and dd is just the same about reception, so im a happy mum as they are all happy.

Plans for today are blitz the house from top to bottom and get in some sort of order, dh is on a FA Coaching course for the next few weeks so he wont be home until 10ish, so need to help ds1 back some books tonight.
Hope you all have a good day
