    Morning All,

Hope this post finds you all fit and well? Lots of new faces but hello my old mukkas like TIE Maman Beanie Shala BEG Tiger joedenise and Wiz :A

Thought you'd like a quick update. the last time we spoke I had decided to go completely 'sugar free'. I did manage 5 months last year and lost 4 stone. But then I had a 'day off' on November 1st, which turned into a week, and then a month, and eventually 4 1/2 months later, I'd put 2 stone back on

Anyway, on Thursday 18th February (see, it doesn't have to be a Monday!) I went 'sugar free' again. 13 weeks in now, and I've lost 2st 6lb :j

Reckon I've got about a stone to go before I feel much happier with myself and I can get into my size 12s but I'm aiming to be there before the Summer Holidays. Should be doable as that's 8 weeks away.

I know SW recommends everything in moderation, and no food is a SYN, which I completely buy into, but for me, that's just not an option. I'm addicted to sugar, well to food really, and having sugar makes me crave fat, and then it goes on. Even if I just have one small acceptable bar a day, like a Curly Whirly, I'm just re-addicting myself on a daily basis, and eventually I binge.

In the whole of last years 5 months sugar free, and this 13 weeks effort, I haven't binged once. As soon as I have a little bit, it's game over and I can't stop. And before I know what's happened, I've put 2 stone back on, or 5 stone, or I'm right back up there at 10 stone over :o

So ho hum all is well again. Will hop back on on the 1st day of the holidays and let you know the latest, which will be good news, because this time, I'm going all the way

Frogga :hello: hello my ole (not old :D:) friend, was thinking of you on Friday when looking in the school pond at the newts (sorry we don't have frogs, posh you know :rotfl:). Wondered then how you were getting on and here you are! Very well done on your sugar free achievement :T:T:T:T look forward to seeing you on this target sofa soon! You go Frog :D

After my small gain and still feeling blerg with my tum, I've put on my clean well fitting jeans (that I can wear without a belt as so comfortable) and they are really loose :(. I don't get it! Numbers up on scales, feeling really bloated but jeans loose (insert shrug smilie here). Refusing to put belt on though so a hoiking I will go :rotfl:.
Nice and sunny here, enjoy your Sunday all :A:A

    Hello all!

Been a while, but I am back on the SW bandwagon as of tomorrow with a target of 21lb by the summer holidays... Wish me luck.

A lot has happened since I was around and my weight has slowly crept up accordingly :( Time to stop the excuses and get back on it though. Freezer is full of speed soup and I have two huge recipe books to get me through.

Today I have had bacon with the fat trimmed off, eggs and mushrooms for breakfast and I have syn free burgers for tea, to have with chips and salad. Then I intend to purge the house of cider and crisps and get back on with a WI Tues morning as I want an accurate picture of what I'm working with.

    Hope you're all well :)

If anyone knows of a low syn lamb mince readily available in the supermarkets, that'd be splendid.

Also how many syns are in 25g of Lurpak please? I've leeks to use and think leek and potato soup is in order, but frying the leeks in butter first gives it a lovely 'non-diet' taste...

Morning all, haven't posted for a while but have been reading everybodies posts and sharing your journeys. Have stayed on track and have lost another 1.5 followed by a 2.5 making 7.5 in total on this challenge. Was delighted on Tuesday at weigh in to get my stone award in just 5 weeks. I've really upped the speed food and have been cutting out alcohol, that's my massive downfall, one is never enough so it is better for me to abstain altogether. Unfortunately last two nights at around 11pm there has been a bottle calling me from the kitchen!! Did have 2 measured glasses last night though and went to bed but must restrain myself tonight, the problem is I have too much and then get the munchies and all will power has gone out the window and then next morning I am kicking myself for sabotaging everything.

Well done to all the losers and commiserations to all the gainers. There's some good losses this week - think it's where we're all beginning to think about getting out and about in the summer.

We're planning on getting away later this week for just over a week; we get back one day and then off again the next day for a long weekend after DH has been to see his consultant.

I've been sorting through my clothes and have cleared out a load of stuff which no longer fits - some to the charity shop and some to go into the textiles bin! Came across a couple of pairs of trousers that I used to wear all the time but were far to tight to be worn (one pair were about 4" to small round the waist!) they now fit so a good NSV and some more trousers to wear rather than just the few which have been comfortable for the last year or so. There's very little difference to the number on the scales but I must have lost some inches from my waist finally, LOL!

Welcome back Frogga. Sounds as though things are going well for you at the moment. You're doing exactly the right thing as you know it's the sugar which is your "problem food" - you have to do what is right for you. Good luck in staying sugar free.

    Today's EE plan:

B - SW fryup cooked by DH
    L - HM veg soup
D - Saltmarsh lamb barnsey chop; roast potatoes, roasted veg; braised red cabbage, mashed celeriac, peas & green beans. Splash of gravy; tsp or so of sugar free mint sauce. Have had to get extra chops from the freezer as DD1 is coming over, which means that DH will get an extra chop (or he'll have it for breakfast tomorrow!!!)

HEA - milk in tea as usual
HEB - not sure yet but may have a couple of Alpen Lights.

    Syns - splash of gravy

Off to sit in the sun for a while before having to get lunch ready (won't take long as already made and just needs reheating!)

    Have a good day everyone.

:T you're doing really well sandypan. I know what you mean about wine being your downfall including munchies when resistance is low. It does get easier once you've established the habit, promise;).

Great NSV denise, it's always a boost when you can get into 'old' clothes. It's good that you kept them.:) I hope you have a lovely week away, and should be able to stay fairly on plan if you're self catering.

Can I ask how you manage with group when you go away for a long break? I'm planning to go to a WI just before my holiday then away for 3 weeks. Ideally I'd like to leave it 2 weeks to 'recover' when I get back but not sure whether my membership would lapse. Can target members book holidays?

Lovely to see 'old' friends posting again. Tie's right frogga that we have to make the plan work for us and if your 'no sugar' rule stops you bingeing then that's the way to go. You should have cracked that extra stone by the summer holidays.:D

Topgirl, the lowest syn lamb mince (you won't be surprised to hear) is Waitrose Essential 10% at half a syn for 100g, M&S chilled is 2 and Iceland frozen is 3.5. I can look up other shops if you want. Lurpak is 2 syns for a tsp. Looking forward to hearing your news.:)

I put savoury mince in the SC last night so just need to portion that up today for the freezer and keep some out for tomorrow.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, baked beans, HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks
L: ham, few fried potatoes, Med veg and pickles
D: lamb shanks on leeks, parsnips and carrots with SW roasties, cauli and broccoli
Syns: scrape of spread, weekend wine;)
