Hi everyone
Just started back at SW after being very ill for awhile, so gained a lot of weight being inactive and generally not thinking about what I was eating.
Would like to join the challenge as I can't always get to SW due to shifts.
I am aiming for 14 lbs during the challenge.SCP # 034

Ooh, lovely new thread, thank you Shala
My target for the new challenge is 10 lbs.
Regarding the free food debate, when I re-started classes 3 weeks ago I was a bit surprised that the consultant stressed that you could eat as much free food as you wanted but she didn't mention anything about making sure 1/3rd of your plate should be speed food. So far she hasn't gone into what people are eating if they've had a gain, or suggested anyone changes what they eat, or increases the amount of speed food they eat.
It's common sense that eating huge amounts of potato, rice and pasta isn't going to help anyone lose weight even if it is classed as free food so we all need to make sure we're having the ratio of speed food and only eating enough to satisfy our appetite, which in all honesty is more than you can have on some diets which leave you feeling hungry and the only option is more salad.

I'm on holiday towards the end of the new challenge. We go 6 weeks on Saturday. I'm half a stone from my original target of 3 stone so I'll aim for 7lb in next 6 weeks.
To those that ask if it's possible to lose without joining up, I'm proof that it is. I've lost 2.5 stone since mid November. Having said that, this thread is my group. Loads of support, tips and advice here. Thank you :T
Can I please have -1lb for the chart shala. Thank you so much for the chart as it's a good motivator. Well done to the losers and SOTW.0 -

Thanks for the new Thread Shala. Love the new title!
It's another EE day today:
B - fruit after WI
L - LO carrot & lentil soup; 1 slice of crustless WM (1/3 HEB)
D - Lamb tagine; couscous. Tagine will have plenty of Speed in it
S - Quark & strawberries on toast
HEA will be milk as usual
HEB - 3 slices crustless WM
No idea about syns at the moment. May just save them for the weekend!!! although DH is on tablets and he's not allowed to drink so will probably join him. Think I might buy some dark chocolate when I go shopping in case I don't drink, LOL!
Back later after WI. DH has lost another 2lb this week.

Totally agree with you. it annoys me too that they do that. They should readdress it and refer to portion sizes and the fact that 1/3 of your plate needs to be speed food. Otherwise its just misleading for people. I think everyone adapts SW though to suit themselves and takes the best of it to make it work for them. In my 3rd week at it I did take the free foods a bit literally and gained 2 lbs.
Shala - I like the burgers, I had with lots of onions and mushrooms, hea cheese and salad. Yum. My mum doesn't like them as much though so I guess its down to personal taste.
I'm coming back for the challenge, keep my hand in and I'm nearly entering my 3rd exercise cycle so 5 lbs for me please. Just have to decide a day for weigh in...............0 -
I agree on the carbs, if I ate all the recommended pasta/potatoes I'd lose nothing. I'm currently tracking in SW and WW and WW are down on carbs a LOT. e.g. a medium baked potato is 7 points, and a chicken breast is 2, veg is mostly 0. I have 30 daily points so carbs would make a big dent. I tend to stick to getting lots of speed foods as those are mostly zero points.
I've really lost my way with breakfast, seem to be eating all sorts and snackingI was having eggs every morning and have gone off them a bit. Low, low brekkie this morning, leftover cauli mashed up with some quark, 2 slices of ham and beetroot! I'll eat anything when I'm hungry
I'll have to decide on the rest of today's food/exercise later. I missed my yoga class last night, and slept in a weird position (face down with arms overhead) so I've all sorts of aches and pains.0
