The MFW Shrinking the Mortgage and the Waistline challenge.

After being inspired by a fellow MFW it has been suggested that it would be a good idea to have a area of support for those shrinking their mortgage while also wanting to shed some lbs.
Slimming clubs can be costly so if we can support each other without spending any £££'s as we shed the lbs then we can be Mortgage free or closer to FIRE just a little bit sooner and be healthier when we arrive
ETA EVERYONE is welcome wherever you are on your DF/MF journey.
I will be setting up a tracker soon so if you would like to declare your weight loss goal in terms of lbs to lose I thought that we could weigh in every week.
It would be fantastic if we can support each other and share recipes and strategies.
I am declaring that I would like to lose 7lbs by 31st May:D
Onwards and downwards lads and lasses:T

Thanks There Is a Light
I am not a MFW but still a DFW but would like to join.
My current weight is 10st 7lb and I would like to lose 8lb in the next 6 weeks - ideally the majority by 13/5 when I have my girlie weekend.
I started 5:2 3 weeks ago and have lost 8lbs so far. My start weight was 11st 1lb.0 -
Love this idea for a thread - thank you Light!
I'm currently 11 stone ish and want to lose around 20 pounds.
Progress has been slow so far (none :rotfl:), I've starting using a step counter on my phone and been tracking calories on MFP so hope to see some results soonwill be lovely to see others progress

Count me in please!
I reached my WW goal weight last week (after losing 41 lbs since January 2015 and having a bit of a blip earlier this year); however, I'm still at the very top of the healthy BMI range and to be honest I could really doing with losing another 7 lbs... I reckon it's going to take me at least another 2 months but by being at "goal" now I save at least £29 on WW fees :TMortgage at highest (April 2008): ~£195,000

As a mse way, have you thought of my fitness pal? (Mfp).
I tried slimming world principles (borrowed a book) and did really well (lost 3 1/2 stone) then over time put back on. Decided to go for it again, but this time found it too restrictive and so tried calorie counting, someone suggested the mfp which is free and 5 stone lost and I have been at target for well over a year.
I liked the guaranteed loss, keep within the numbers and a guaranteed loss each week, then changing targets as got nearer goal. I like being able to exercise for wine...Morgage till Nov 30 GOAL MFW Sept 2016Aug 11 - £100k Aug 2016.... It's GONE!!!!!

Welcome everyone, lovely to see such a great response.
At the weekend I will create some sort of tracker so we can monitor our losses.
Not sure how my grocery challenge is going to help with my weight loss but I am shopping at the weekend too. Today's food for me is:
Cheerios and skimmed milk (I know, full of sugar but need using up)
Tortilla wrap with hummus and salad
Wholemeal pasta with pesto & sundried tomatoes
Banana and 2 apples for snacks.
At work all day today until 9pm so need to be well organised."These things take time but I know that I'm the most inept that ever stepped"0 -
