We've finished the back garden :T
Patio slabs are back to their original colourand we are swept, broken toys bagged up for the tip and everything tidied and clipped as required. It's taken us the best part of two Thursday's with the size of the patio, but it's done! Very pleased. Next plan is to get a few more bedding plants, set some peas going and then have a good tidy and wipe in the playhouse. When the weather improves.
Feeling much more positive now! Still loads of laundry - well, I could probably get it done tomorrow - and then I can think about kitchen plans!
I've one more showroom to visit then I'll get some quotes. Might go tomorrow.
Sat here with no trousers on, lol, they are just drying in the kitchen...Bossymoo

Standard Flying is suspended til further notice....
We have decided in the interests of safety (mine, as I am getting a little fed up with going base over apex on the uneven patio slabs) that we are having the patio redone, steps replaced with a ramp and handrail, and a new shed - the current one will blow over with a good gust of wind!
So it's all hands/paws to the pump to relocate the contents of the shed, as the workmen will be starting on Friday 6th May.
Some stuff can go in the spare space in the mobility buggy shed (there'a areas to the sides that are vacant), some can be temporarily lofted, the rest I will somehow have to shoehorn into the spare room.
I also predict a certain degree of flingage. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Hi all,
Just checking in to say nowt done, been at the paid stuff, but I am going to change that now!
Ps LW jealous re patio, we have a pile of rubble that will one day be a patio!
Right, off to fly for a frantic couple of hours, interspersed with cooking and homework enforcement x0 -
I managed to beat the rain home to retire my dry washing. It is now raining heavily and the garden has a pond (clay soil).
DH has put out the new small red bin and the new garden rubbish bin ready for the morning collection.
I picked up my next order (jeans for Ds2) bumped in to best friend so had a drink with her. Then met my niece and great niece in ikea for brunch. We had a lovely time singing action songs. The surrounding tables didn't complain.
Dropped off my parents' stuff at the charity shop. I'm helping them declutter but I'm sticking to 1 day per week then charity shop/tip drop.
Ground floor henried
20 Lego sets dusted
2 donuts eaten
Ds2' new head teacher has been announced today. It is the old deputy head luckily so no new person to introduce to him.
Glad you are getting a safe patio and ramp LW X
I was going to ask for good luck vibes for ds1 as he had an exam today and if he doesn't pass we will be paying £4000 rent for next year for nothing :eek0 -

Dinner done
I feel worn out tongiht, so not doing any of my normal flying, I really don't think it will matter too much.

Well, my get up and go nearly got up and went at about 5.30 this afternoon, but I gave it a good talking to and brought it back to heel. I have cleaned the whole house except for the upstairs floors - which don't really need it anyway, though I had already decided that lugging the vacuum cleaner upstairs is DH's job, not mine
I've even steam mopped the kitchen, hallway, utility, side lobby and back porch, which haven't had more than a cat lick for a month of Sundays.
I am now officially hanging up my marigolds until after the Bank Holiday, when DH will no doubt come back and drop his stuff everywhereI do miss him, but I spent so many years on my own before we met that it's nice to be able to work to my own timetable for a bit, without having to worry about him.
The lawn has had a good soaking since I seeded the bare patches this morning, so if the greedy pigeons leave enough seeds to sprout, we might get grass in the right places.
Love the idea of a new shed, LW - the he-wolf's lair? - and the patio with ramp and handrail sounds excellent too. Your safety is very important.
Nikki, hope you didn't get soaked on your delivery run this evening.
Sending good mark vibes for your DS1, dancemum. I bet you weren't the only parent breathing a sigh of relief at the announcement of the new Head: changes of staff are always unsettling for children anyway and, from what you've said, your DS2 would be more affected than most.
Did you ever finish the dog coats, pigpen?
Just finishing my :coffee:, then I'm having an early night0 -
Ah, you've all been so busy flying. I've barely kept up with washing and dailies, been so busy with work. Complex assessment this afternoon (when aren't they) which took ages then I had to go and discuss the student with manager. Meant I got home at 7, totally exhausted (didn't fit in "lunch" of 2 rice cakes with peanut butter till 5.30). Almost stopped to get a C0sta on the way home I was so tired and in need of something, but kept driving while I was still awake. Was barely coherent when I got home; kept mispronouncing words and talking rubbish (more than usual). Lovely Mr N had cooked dinner (all I'd done was take some mince out of the freezer this morning). House really cold as the aga has packed up for some reason, luckily we have a 2-ring halogen unit and microwave, plus a gas fire in the lounge - think it will be hot water bottle tonight!! Slobbed over a film, ate my way through some after8 and didn't count them for MFP
Tomorrow my only 'booking' is with the physio; the promised "painful but effective" treatment so I'm really looking forward to that. Not. Have been doing the exercises every day and the shoulder has been aching much of the time - prior to the doc and physio it was only painful when I used it in a particular way.
Serious declutter this w/e as the scouts are organising a village garage sale - only £2.50 to register and they produce a map of who is "open for business" on 8th May. Surely we must get rid of some stuff and make £2.50 - even if not, it can be a donation to the scouts.
No snow today, but had occasional snow/sleet/hail showers the last few days. Goodness knows when I will sow more seeds, poor things will freeze solid.
Sorry enough non flying talk. I did fill the bird feeders yesterday, does that count?Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0
