Is there a social media campaign underway?
    I think....
  • It's already happened in Dubai and Singapore, so yes, I can see something like that happening. The difference is that the incomers in those palces tend to be wealthy whereas here we have a lot who are poor.

Who gives a toss about people from Stoke? They might as well come from Somalia.

The question should be about whether native Londoners will be priced out of London and if so who will pay for the largesse of the SNP?

Lancastrians and Norwegians are both the same in Lambeth pal.

I don't see why not. Housing goes to whoever can afford it. Well off immigrants probably want to live in London. Just general ignorance about Britain outside of London, plus their work opportunities may work better in London, implies a London bias.

As to foreign investors, I remember an article about a Dutch company which was looking at the time, to invest in 1000 properties with a view to renting them out.

I would think there are plenty of pension funds with a never ending stream of money flowing into them looking to invest in good quality property, be it commercial or residential. Either guaranteeing, or near enough to, a good income stream or a profit once they flip the properties.

Yes I believe the sharia court of tower hamlets will soon pass a law banning British people from London and they will all be forced to leave.

with the influx of people into London, many of them immigrants and the lack of sufficient housing, then the people will have to accept ever smaller homes on London.
Many will celebrate this as a wonderful consequence of a higher GDP which they confuse with having a better standard of living.
Many who wish to have sufficient space to bring up a family will have to move out and have a long commute.
Overall, the young people of Londoner getting poorer due to the increase in population.

Native everybodys have been forced out, by price, from where their ancestors lived (in slums).

Look at the 1911 Census and all my ancestors lived in houses that are now £400-£1million .... just common, back street, row upon row of terraces built for the railway/similar workers and overcrowded.

The village where my mum grew up, her mother grew up, her grandfather grew up .... etc all the way back to the pre-1800s, they've probably been there since the year dot, is similarly priced.

In 1970 my parents had to buy in a surrounding village to the town. 25 years later I got a SO on a council estate nearly 10 miles out. If I returned I'd have to buy 25-30 miles from the town.

Our new postman has moved out from London.

He was born and bred there but said he could not stand it anymore.

Nothing to do with the price of houses.
