This time of year sounds like agony for teachers ... I'm glad the homework supervision is gone, thats something. Not long now ...

I imagine most teachers already have the champagne on ice...
I'm exhausted as a parent, they must be shattered.

Bit of a spendy day today as both children needed end of year presents for the teachers. However, that is a once a year expense so I don't mind.

Last day for the children today. They finish at lunchtime so Mr Gnome has the fun task of supervising 8 12-13 yr old boys who are coming over this afternoon to eat pizza and play on the Xbox. I am glad to be in work;)

I managed to make my lunch for work today by the simple method of cooking a double dinner and bringing the leftovers.

We are gradually making progress with the energy company. We've sent them the job report from National Grid which shows our meter was faulty so hopefully they will knock a bit more off the bill.

I put this on an earlier post but the diary has moved on a page so I've copied it here.

I bought an Xbox one because that is what the children wanted. I think they felt there would be a better choice of games for them. I just did as I was told.;) I waited for the sales, which do seem to be every few weeks at the moment, and bought a console plus game package with a wireless controller (so they can leap around the room whilst playing:p) . I bought the 1TB Xbox one for the additional storage as the boys are sharing it. However, we didn't get Kinect as I am not convinced they would use it, I am sure we can add it later if needed. However, we did buy a second wireless controller so they can both play at the same time.

I wasn't comfortable buying a second hand Xbox although I did by a second hand Wii in the past. I felt it was going to get a lot of use so would stick with new.

So far it has been a great success, although my skills at Rocket League leave a little to be desired:o

The Xbox was a great success yesterday with the visitors. They were playing FIFA and Rocket League against each other. It kept 8 boys amused for hours (interspersed with Nerf gun battles in the garden). They arrived around 2.30pm and the last one left at 9.40pm:eek::D
