I have searched in vain for a checklist of those to inform after changing your name after marriage. Could you we form a list?

Now that is something I've never thought of. I didn't see a reason to change as your NI no remains the same. Do you need to inform of a change of name?sarahlouise210 wrote:,apply for new National Insurance card,;)0 -
yes... you will not get a new National Insurance card without it. You need to return the old card. For some women it is important to notify Dept dealing with National Insurance as they will earn pension contributions from husbands payments. This also applies on divorce!I have had brain surgery - sorry if I am a little confused sometimes

Gosh, I never thought about National Insurance, how do you go about doing it?
I was married in January and I still have loads of things to change, will get there slowly but it takes so much time!0 -

I'd also like to know how you go about it.0 -
So glad to hear that I'm not the only one. I got married in Feb and have not informed anyone of a change of name yet. Infact I can't even remember to use it myself. It takes a bit of getting used to.

Your nearest benefits office can give you the change of name form, you fill it in and return it with your old NI card and you will be sent a new one with your new name on it0

You need to tell the DVLA twice - once for driving licence and separately on your vehicle log book.If it was easy, everyone would do it!0

THIS LIST is actually for a house move, but most would apply to a name change, I think. Seems pretty comprehensive and I'm all for not "reinventing the wheel"

Would be interested to see if we have any suggestions not covered by this list
Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac
