Lots of people on here suggested "Taking charge of your fertility" and I have just received it. Can't say anything more about it yet, but after trying for almost a year, I thought it is worth a try...
I have been told that you should at least take folic acid (400mg a day), but I stuck to pregnacare ones. I did buy a package of pregnacare conception, but they are much more expensive that the standard ones. The Standard ones do say that they are for pre-conception and throughout the pregnancy. Last time I was in Boots they were on 3 for 2 offer, so I stocked up.... Again....Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
Hi searching me...I'm sorry you're feeling down. I had a miscarriage in June and I still find myself thinking about what could have been..I should be five months' pregnant now, but instead we're starting all over again. But the bad days are much fewer and further between now...I hope that you are feeling better soon and that next time all goes well for you.

ps. After my m/c my gynaecologist said to keep taking the Pregnacare (standard) tablets, even immediately afterwards, so that's what I've been doing.:jBaby boy, Hugh, born on the 8th June 2009, weighing 2.5kg:j0 -

Re: supplements whilst TTC.
I was advised by my fertility consultant to take some supplements that are for pre-conception, all of pregnancy and after the birth. (I do eat a crap diet though) I tried Pregnacare for awhile but had horrendous headaches so stopped taking them. The consultant told me not to worry so long as I stayed on the folic acid everyday.
I think I will have a look at supermarkets own brands next time I am shopping as its still in the back of my mind that I'm not getting everything I need. Also if I don't get on with them they won't have cost me an arm and a leg
So I'd say that if you eat a bad diet like me, then they may be of benefit.

shelly,
Asda do a "pregnancy" vitamin, they contain: Vitamins D E and C, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, Vit B6, Folic acid (400mg), Vits B12 and K, Iron, Magnesium, Zinc, Iodine, Selenium, Copper and Beta Carotene. They do them on a 2 for £4 offer so may be worth a try and there are 30 tablets in each pot so £4 for 60 tablets.
Hope that helps!

I got this book too, more of a textbook really. Looked at some of it so far, but have tried to start temping however am getting very low readings orally, like 96.4 F so think I am breathing through mouth and knackering it? Oh dear may have to use the other place......where there is no breathing
Had bit of a worry last night- in my quest to BD every night (I know the 2-3 day thing but just wanted to cover all bases as it were this month and try temping to be slightly more accurate) DH had an issue. He said it was because he was tired, but that hasn't been a problem before. I was like oh no he is subconciously getting acomplex about the whole baby thing, even though he is really keen and he practically said that as we were doing it for a purpose rather than just fun it was different.
AAhhhhhhh, he was alway bothering me to do it more and now I am willing he has gone all weird on me- he actually just rang me to say sorry as I am mid rant here, he is a sweetie but still hope he isn't feeling too much pressure- not sure why as we have only just started trying last week!
Anyway sorry if this has been long-ish just had to vent a bit0 -
Sorry, can't understand Farenheit readings - I am a Celsius girl
In the fist half of the month I get readings as low as 36.2 C, but after OV they do pick up and I did have occasionally above 37.0 C, so it depends on the time of the month.

Checked internet and "normal" is between 97 and somethign else (only wanted the lower end really) and the charts you get only go down to 96.9 and reallt start the numbers at 97, so my 96.4 won't even register as a reading on the chart- making me thing that it isn't a good reading and has happened today and yesterday.......might do some googling later on to see if there is anything else about it0

Hi Lizzie
In my experience of the whole TTC thing I find men (I'm only including my ex hubbie and my current partner in that BTW :rotfl: ) don't really find it very sexy bding specifically for the purpose of making a baby.
All the talk of cervical mucous and temps can be a bit of a turn off for the male speciesperhaps that's what's happened
I'm not telling you anything you don't already know I realise that - you sound a bit like me when we decided to try for a baby for the first time - you go all out for your goal but try to calm down a bit - as you say you've only just started trying - know what it's like to want to be pg straight away though and can't concentrate on anything else!
You will be fine x0 -
I think you are getting a fair idea of what I'm like (also based on my thread yesterday with the premature purchasing
).
I shall keep the baby related talk to myself for a bit I think- can bother you guys with it, ha ha! However will still try and have the BD but disguise it as the non-BD, that will confuse him.....
By the way have been having what is like AF cramping but only lightly since Monday-ish and still have it today (AF left about 1 week ago so not due at the mo) and wasn't sure if this might be ov related? Was v.hungry yesterday and ate tonnes of rubbish (crisps, biscuits, some lollies, whatever I could get my hands on in the house) then had half a fish supper with DH (then felt a bit sick due to pigginess!) and again am well hungry today (my cheese and marmite sarnies for lunch may need supplemented with a trip out to the shops for extra grub!). However I am like this every month, starving some days then not hungry at all on others, I just haven't ever tried to attribute it to anything cycle related, but I think it does effect your appetitie at different times?!?0
