Hi,just a quick question for anyone who's been through IVf/ICSI ,How long does the whole process take ?
Just wondering because we've just had the initial letter through from the clinic,so I don't expect it to be too long before we get given our initial appointment, but does anybody know how long it'll be from our first appointment with the consultant to actually starting treatment ?

    Thanks

I did a test today, still no sign of AF and its day 31, and im normally as regular as clockwork.(between 21-25 days) It was a BFN (used a clearblue digital test). Am really confused as to what my body is playing at! Advice anyone? x

I've found that if I've had a particular stress around the time of ovulation, it knocks my ovulation back to be later, and then my period comes later too. Could this have happened to you maybe?

We saw the consulant who told us we'd need IVF in October 05, and started treatment in Feb 06, leading to egg collection in March 06. This was because we went private - at 36 I felt I didn't have 3 years to wait.
    The IVF worked;DS born 2006.

Hiya everyone, thanks for your helpful advice, its great :) I have to say Jiblets that your comment seems to be the most feasible. I don't check my temp or anything, but around the time that OV should have been, there was a stressful time just then.

Hope everyone else is hunky dory

Mmm, not sure if this is related to what has been happening with period 1.5 weeks early/possible IB (last AF started 1st Aug, unprotected sex 15th, then had brown stuff/bleeding on the 20th till today), but it appears to be nearly gone and since last night I have had sharp pains in my abdomen just inside my hips. Last night it was the right side mostly and wasn't comfy any way I lay (was so bad a times that it woke me up, however was difficult to actually sleep and at one point the pain was moving to my chest and thought I was going to be sick, but wasn't). Pain was still there this morning and stayed off work and went to doctors. Explained everything and gave a urine sample (need to wait till Fri for results). He said sound like appendix but I'm not feeling unwell at all just the random pains so may not be that?

From your guys experience could they be pg related? They are still here but more on both sides now and lower back, not as intense as last night (but waiting to see what happens later.....)

Rightio gals, I am now on the tww!

This is the second month of conceiving and as far as I can tell we have done everything correctly. We have baby dancing 3 nights in a row and once on Thurs to make love without baby dancing. I have felt ovulation pains last night. The previous two mornings I have had the "right muscus" along with last nights population paste (ewgh!), temperature hasn't gone down yet so may baby dancing tonight too (isn't he a lucky fella?!) and I am folic acid and he is on the zinc!

So, all good signs, now got to go through the two week wait...

Do you mean you haven't had a temp rise yet? Also beware that observing CM on days following BDing can be very misleading (due to being almost idential to semen, not suprising given the purpose is the same!). Sorry if you already know this, but as you are fairly new to the ttc game, wouldn't want you to miss any oportunities!
  • sorry to be thick but what is baby dancing??

anyways, looks like AF is about to show it's ugly face anytime soon, having the familiar twinges. DAMN THING!!!

never mind i guess there is always next month! xx

RiaAnn - yep, I know the difference, but thanks for letting others know. Population paste, when it has been inside me overnight (gross, I know!) is very liquidy in the morning. Having observed my cm for months (and even before I was on pill 10 years ago when I knew nothing of what the consistance meant), it was very egg whitey. Sorry - only way I could describe it!

And yep, I meant temp rise not fall! Sorry!

This is sooo biological! And I failed A'level biology!

Well according to the schedules last weekend was my optimum time to concieve so MrT didn't know what had hit him! In the end he declared that "that's it I need a break! What have you been taking??"... bless :) He knows we're TTC but I try not to put pressure on him by telling him WHEN we should be BDing :)
So fingers crossed ladies!!! Now I understand why everyone counts down to the day they can test and hopefully get that lickle blue line! I keep telling myself it's not that far away! *sigh*
