I have been staying with my family in my hometown this week. I spent £18.51 on groceries, but have declared them as a 'Holiday spend' so didn't include them in the budget.
However I didn't use up all the food, so what I am taking back to me and my OH's house I will add.
2 Uncle Ben's rices £2
Tin of Tuna £0.69
3 cans of pepsi £1
2 Lentil soups £1.10
Total £4.79
This takes the food shopping budget to £123.10 which leaves £61.90 off the £185 budget and only £41.90 off my target of £165 for the month.
This doesn't include any receipts I will have to add up when I return to my OH that he has spent whilst I was away.
I am pleased to report two things, today was my first NSD of the month (I have set a target of 16 on the NST july thread) and also due to a tip on that thread i found out that the Metro newspaper was giving away free Budweiser vouchers. I think it is an even bigger promotion in Wales due to the football (which i am avidly watching now).
So i wombled £3.50 off my beers and will have something nice to take back to Cardiff. I ordered a lot of beer with the monthly food shop so I think It will be a little while before i buy any again.Debt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020

I have been rubbish at posting this month but I have been trying really hard to use things up and minimise spends.
I had a small spend of £6.81 last week on fruit and salad. This week I spent £9.22 in Asda on yogurts, milk, coffee, hot chocolate, bin liners, frozen peppers, salad bits and some apples.
I'm off to Aldi tomorrow for my main shop but I've meal planned and made a list so it shouldn't be too bad.
Missed my budget by a whisker last month so I'm determined to succeed this month.
PP xOriginal mortgage £112,000 . Final payment due August 2027.

Supermarket shop done this evening £31.43 spent. Stocked up on some things which were on offer that I use all the time plus two bunches of celery only 2p each and a pack of cherry tomatoes at 3p.
Did my homework on the website before going so was able to just follow the list and quickly pick out the pack size/brands which were the best price as it'd been worked out before setting foot inside the store.
Hovered by tinned beans and chickpeas as they had offer labels on the shelf (didn't read them) but reminded myself that I have plenty already so didn't actually need to buy any today.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅0 -
I'm lying in bed writing a shopping list ready for tomorrow (couldn't get today as planned) and as we usually shop at Aldi I decided to run it through the my supermarket app. My Aldi shop came to £33.03 but when I ran the same items through using Sainsburys it came to £53.06!!! Now that's one heck of a difference. I don't mind admitting I'm a food snob and it wasn't until my hubby was made redundant, albeit temporarily, a few years ago that we had to change from Sainsburys to Aldi but even though things are now on a much more even keel we still shop at Aldi and find the quality to be excellent. So if you're looking to save some money on your grocery bill I'd highly recommend Aldi. This one example alone shows how much we save. Mind you you might only go in for the food shop and come out with a lawn mower and a clothes line as well as your weekly shopping lol!!!Grocery challenge June 2016

NSD yesterday, but going to have to visit the sops on the way home tonight for some salad bits and some ice cream. The other half thinks he's dying from the 'heat' and, of course, ice cream is the only thing in the world that will help him0
