    Hi All, :hello:

I joined this challenge last year and managed to be able to save money, however life got in the way so the money saving went haywire since then.:( I've been lurking here far too long.

I want to get back on track with money saving and since sitting the other half down and showing what savings we could try to make (there are some things he doesn't want to change but I can work on that!! :rotfl:.. One challenge at a time)

Please may I join again, I'd like to put the budget for the month for £350. This is to include toiletries, weekly shops etc. We get a meat delivery once a month which I have not included in this.

1 way I plan to get this down is by meal planning, finger crossed.

    xx

I haven't finished in April but will be aiming for £250 again this month. I have an almost empty chest freezer and can't decide whether to fill it up with batch cooking or try to empty it totally, turn it off and use the 2 fridge freezers!
Thanks for all the inspiration and support on here :T

Ok im scraping by on nearl empty freezer and fridge from last month but as we go on holiday on Monday im not doing a shop yet.

We are going in a caravan for a week with the kids so will do a shop on Sunday to get some food to take with us. Im going to clean the fridge freezer out while its nearly empty too.

I am loving farm foods at the moment, milk 2 for £1 all frozen veg are 3-4-2 and only £1! We had a bbq sausage bake last night which was ok but I woulnt make again. Loads of eggs to use so eggy bread for breakfast and ham, egg and chips for tea.

Have spent £42.04 so far out of £250 this month - keep plodding on everyone!

First shop of the month on payday. £6.21 - normal priced stuff was soy yogurts, tofu, carrots, celery

Almost free YS (as close to midnight!)
    lemons
    onions
courgette spaghetti - these items 3 I will use to make lemon tofu garlic soup tomorrow
white cabbage - chopped salad I think, with carrots and celery and some apples I have left
vegetable base mix - no idea what to do with this. Might try a HM pasta sauce with a tin I aleady have of white beans?

Coould you put me down for £200 please.

2 grown ups, the cats have separate budget due to illnesses/dietry requirements. I will be going from 1st of month to 1st of month. We both get paid on the 25th but I have been trying to stretch that other week out for ages.

I slightly overspent for April but remain just (and I mean just!) inside my annual percentage profile by 0.02%!

Hmm, I must try harder this month to pare things back a bit or spending money at Christmas will also suffer. I need to find a few store cupboard items on offer too as I only have one spare coffee and one spare dishwasher detergent left (I never pay full price for these but I do stick to the vanity of brands for coffee).

    Good luck this month everyone

  • Can you put me down for £150 this month? I'm expecting to feed more people than usual, so a bit extra in the budget may well be required.
