I came off the pill in March and I think it took about 6 weeks to get my period, that was a really long wait and like PKK I got slightly increased PMS symptoms. Vitamin wise I decided to go for Pregnacare, but only because I got flummoxed by all the options. I wanted some B12 and some iron too so it had it all, the only thing to be careful of is that you don't take one with vitamin A as that can be dangerous.

Skimper, I'm off to Longleat in Sept, can't wait! I'll be just shy of 19 weeks but as none of the family know at the moment I'm trying to be sensible about what we say we'll book. Sad I won't be able to go in the rapids or the water rides, but we'll just have to go back!

    Welcome Faith!

Just to share my experience of coming off the pill, I stopped taking it in January after 15 years and my cycles are taking a while to return to normal. I’ve only had 2 periods since, one after 7 weeks and the second after another 12 weeks. No other symptoms except that I do think my mood has improved a little!

Thank you both that really helps think it’s just the fear of the unknown atm but very exciting too we aren’t telling anyone as I don’t want the added pressure from my mil

Pregnacare was the one I was looking at too due to the iron thing all the woman in my family have iron issues

Pregnacare is often on three for two at boots and Superdrug.
Faith, i think it was around six weeks after I stopped my pill that I got my period then it was very regular.
Hope everyone else is ok x
  • Morning Faith,

I was on the Pill for quite a lot of years and once i stopped taking it my cycles were regular.
My cramps were a little more harsh than they had been and bleeding was a little more heavier but other than that nothing too noticeable.

Any questions though ask away, everyone is very friendly on here.

Pkk & HopHop - Were going to Sherwood in Nottingham. We are going Fri-Mon so didn't want to go too far. Its only a 2 hr drive from us & we get to take the doggies with us. If im pregnant then, then i'll be gutted I cant go on the rapids as its the best bit. But young nephew will be there so I can always baby sit.

Faith - My period took 10 weeks to come back & then I'm fairly regular once it did.

AF due today... tested & BFN :(
I had 3 separate dreams last night with me getting a positive test result so when i woke up it took me a few seconds to realise it was a dream. Thought maybe it was my body telling me something haha.

Why is this so much harder then I thought, we timed everything perfectly. Onwards to cycle 5 once the witch shows up.

Good luck to everyone else in the TWW.

Faith177 – Hi! I also came off the pill recently after being on it for a long time. I haven't had an symptoms, my cycles appear to be a normal length, but they may take a few months to regulate properly. I too am taking folic acid. I think it is important to just feel healthy, and exercise regularly.

Skimper – sorry to hear your BFN result:( - I too have had baby/pregnancy related dreams!!

Hope everyone has nice weekends :)

Sorry about your BFN, Skimper. And so mean of your mind to raise your hopes like that!

My best friend got engaged over the weekend, and she asked me to be her maid of honour! I am thrilled! She wants to get married in May next year and so I think we may have to skip next month - I really don't want to miss the wedding or be 9 months pregnant. Hmm. Will have a think. She hasn't set a date yet obviously, so it also depends on their chosen venue's availability.

Also, she doesn't know we are TTC (haven't told anyone IRL!)
