Thanks lovelies, feeling much better today. I bought a clearblue digital ovulation set so I can actually be a nit more accurate with my dates - its the advanced purple one which identify 4 days up to and OV has anyone used it before?

Thanks for asking that teenie, its something I've been wondering and not really thought about how to ask! I don't think we are doing it enough in that fertile time period so will def plan ahead of time this month as unromantic as that sounds ha!

Zeni Sorry AF got you. I used that ovulation kit for the first time the month we caught. I didn't see much benefit at the time as I only got one flashing smiley but obviously it did the trick for me.

In regards to BDing, the month we caught we only BD'd twice - one day before OV and the day of OV. Other months we had done much more in the way of BDing but had no luck. The only thing I thought made a difference for us was I took black cohosh CD1-12 in July and I really think it had an effect on my egg :)

  • Zeni I don't know about those ovulation tests. I did an OPK twice daily for 10 months - not because I'm a nutter (lol) but because my GP told me to as my cycles were unpredictable and mostly months apart. I was having blood tests weekly too at the same time for 'fertility profiling' (had anyone else had that?). I got not one positive OPK but tbh, I may not have been ovulating then. I don't do them now as I found it really draining at the time and felt like a failure. So, as daft as it sounds I don't do them now at all. My fertility doctor says not to worry either as she's got me 'up and running' now. But, I have friends who have used the clear blue tests and said they were awesome and well worth the extra money. So good luck with them!

Glad you are feeling better Zeni. I tired ovulation sticks I got free with my thermometer for one month but it didn't really show very much so I gave up. Still have a load though so might give them another go next month. You seem to have very regular cycles so it's probably worth you giving them a go to help you really pinpoint ovulation. Good luck!
  • Glad you're feeling better, Zeni!

I had my CD12 scan today, and in 2 days my follicle has gone from 12mm to 17mm! I think the standard size for an egg to drop is between 18-24mm, so I'm feeling excited!

No more scans til CD24 now, just to confirm with bloods that I have ovulated.
  • Spooney - wow you get super treatment! I got CD12 scans and that was only until she determined the dose was right. I don't need to go back until a December now, unless we get pregnant. Isn't it funny how different areas treat patients differently? Super news! Good luck xx
  • CD2 for me today. Knew I was out this month as between the madness of moving house and me being poorly we only BD'd once, and hadn't been tracking anyway. Have just ordered some more OPKs and also a BBT thermometer, as I have never actually tracked my temperature, so intrigued to do so. But hopefully September will be our month anyway.

    :)
