Official Trying to Conceive - Thread 13

But no point mopping about, I'm thinking of trying acupuncture - perhaps it might help to 'de-stress' and keep me relaxed. The only thing is, it is quite pricey. Is any one able to shed some light on this treatment?
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend and Happy Mother's Day alsox
Sorry you are feeling so rubbish Lily_Rose - I'm actually starting acupuncture on Saturday as some of my PCOS support group have sworn by it to help them conceive and I had a recommendation for a local acupuncture clinic so I'm going to give it a go. It's a little on the pricey side but we've had a look and factored it into the budget for 3 months and will see what happens after that.:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

I managed the whole weekend without much symptom spotting, although I was very queasy on Sunday evening and decided I wouldn't be drinking anymore just in case....I had drunk more than my fair share of prosecco and belgian beer by that point so not too much of a problem.
Had some very good talks with OH about TTC while we were away too, which was really lovely - I try and keep my stress about the PCOS/endo affecting my ability to conceive to myself as I don't want to stress him out with it too but it turns out he actually does want to know. We have agreed this month will be our first with me being completely open about stress/ telling him when I'm ovulating etc so he can feel like he is helping:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

Glad you had a good weekend away  Sounds like you had a really good chat,It's always nice to get it all out in the open. Reading this I'm kind of thinking I should follow your example and be a bit more open with the OH.Swagbuckling since Aug 2016 - Earnings so far.. £55.0 -

Thanks Zeni
It's certainly worth a try, I found it quite difficult to talk to him at first as when we first got together he was on the fence about kids so I spent a long time not mentioning it in case I spooked him - he's completely changed his mind after being around some children close to us but I still feel a bit of anxiety about talking about it too much.:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

I get that, My OH is totally on board with children (and marrying a primary school teacher he knew I really wanted them all along) but yet I still get anxiety talking about it as dont want to go overboard on it and freak him out. I think though next month I'm going to be more open about Oving and all that jazz.Swagbuckling since Aug 2016 - Earnings so far.. £55.0 -
Thanks twigpig , Zeni & newthrift, OH doesn't buy it but I think at this rate I'm happy to try acupuncture or even reiki.
kirstypoos please let me know how it goes, I'm worried the needles will cause bruising/non stop bleeding :rotfl:. Sounds like you had a great time away.
I'm pretty open with OH, probably too open in fact, woops...It's good to let it out and great to know that you are both on the same page.
According to FF, AF is due in 4 days, my cycles have fluctuated quite a bit this year but no doubt AF will rear her ugly head yet again!0 -
Hey ladies just a quick delurking to say I had acupuncture. There was definitely no bruising or bleeding - I couldn't even tell I'd just had it - and I do think it helped in the regulation of my cycles.
I was a total cynic, but actuality found it really sensible. If you're unsure, be sure to look for a therapist who is a bit more pragmatic - mine was great but I had a stand in one week who was much more "new age" and I think if I'd had him from the beginning I wouldn't have stuck at it.Officially Mrs B as of March 2013
TTC since Apr 2015, baby B born March 20170 -
Hi all! Just another de lurker to say that I had acupuncture too. I think in the end I had about 10 sessions over the space of 3 months. It was quite pricey but I managed to claim back some of that through a healthcare scheme I was part of at work so may be work looking into if you have something like that available.
I was very cynical attending and I really have no idea if it was the acupuncture that helped me get my BFP but surely it would be too much of a coincidence?
Unlike Cats I did bruise on the odd occasion with the needles but mainly on my legs and very, very minor.
I say if it's affordable to you and you can find a good registered practice, I'd recommend giving it a try! Won't do any harm if you keep an open mind xx0 -
Can I ask you both if it hurt at all?
I'm a big baby when it comes to needles generally but I was told you can barely feel it and if I close my eyes I'll be fine - I was brave booking the appointment but I'm wobbling as I get closer to Saturday!:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)
