  • So shark week isn't for another few days but I've had a bit of a funny feeling so took a test.

Got a very faint positive yesterday afternoon but a complete negative when I tested again this morning.

Both were First Response Early Response tests so now I don't know what to think. I don't want to end up spending a fortune on tests but I'm really really confused!
Everyone has a dark side... apparently mine is called Harold?!?

Twigpig - no date yet as they send it out in a letter, but should be before Christmas.

Midget - fingers crossed it sounds quite positive and bean stays sticky xx

Redfraggle - I would suggest waiting until your late and if AF doesn't show do a test then you'll get a clearer answer.
Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

  • Hi Redfraggle, It ain't over til the fat lady sings! I used internet cheapies that should have been as sensitive as FRER, and got negatives on 14dpo and 16dpo, before getting a positive on 17dpo. AF was 4 days late by then.

Good luck, hope you manage to enjoy the weekend, then get the test result you want next week.

midget - that's good news, fingers and toes crossed for you

redfraggle - I would def hold off on the expensive tests if you're testing early. Where are you in your cycle? Do you know your dates?

that will be a nice christmas present newthrift. Hopefully you'll be radiant and not feeling sick on christmas day :)

    Evening all

I feel a little silly posting on here when you all think I shouldn't have tried prior to the wedding but I think I must have OV as AF is due in 2 weeks time and my CM suggests that I OV 2 days ago even though I always had completely negative OPK with no line at all. Has anyone ever had completely negative OPKs and OVed?

So I am in the tww I think... If we haven't caught this cycle I wouldn't know about the outcome of the next until after the wedding. I know its pretty unlikely we have caught but we will see.

In case anyone is stocking up, Boots have FRER on buy one get one free at the moment, I bought some as I thought either way we will need some next year and lets face it I am MSE or wouldn't have ended up here in the first place :p

Red fraggle how many dates after OV are you?

Midget that sounds really good news and I have everything crossed for you. It seems a bit insensitive that the GP told you that based on dates alone.

Hey chickenmama, don't be silly, you do what feels right. You never know how long it might take. I've only used opk's a few times and didn't have that happen but I expect those little strips can easily be defective. You said cm says you ov'd... daft question, what's cm? Lol. Cervical mucus? Could you be about to OV? I had a wave of ewcm quite a few days before I ov'd this month (recorded on my chart)

  • So I did a cheapy dipstick test on Tuesday, the day AF was due. Bfn and then I had a little blood on the loo roll (sorry if tmi) then nothing until weds evening, another spot.
Really thought AF was here, had it before like that.
Tested with a clear blue on Thursday and saw the faintest of lines but wasn't sure if I was imagining it.
Did another one Friday and definitely had a faint line (spent ages staring before I used it to check I couldn't see anything)
And today I did a digital and got my BFP.
So our attempt at SMEP (not that we stuck to it exactly), the cough medicine, fertility stones bracelet and pineapple seemed to have worked.
    :)
