Hi,
Have you registered with the Help to Buy scheme for your region?
What you see advertised as shared ownership on rightmove and such is not everything there is on the market. The housing associations have a number of shared ownership properties. They contact people who express interest/have been accepted by the Help to buy scheme, sometimes before they put it on rightmove etc.
Hope that helps.
Oh, Nationwide flexdirect account gives 5% on balances of up to £2500. The good part is this: after a while you qualify for their regular saver
I would make sure I save £1200 first and open a help to buy isa, you're losing so much money if you don't!car finance £1072/£8285 by sept 2018

Property is this area is too expensive even with HTB. Will look at opening a HTB isa next year.
Not looking like I'll be starting my nurse training this year. Will try again next year, at least I'll now be able to complete my degree with the OU. I so don't want to be in my current position this time next year.Student nurse 2018 to 2020

Payday was yesterday
Income = £1998.69
Budget = £1998.69
Budget includes:
Food = £165.46
May holiday = £82.76
Dentist = £152.14
Misc = £166.04 (basically anything not budgeted for, therefore spends)
I will have 2 paydays from extra work in May, looking at around £80. In total looking at £40 ish a week for spends (misc) so not too bad and think I'll actually have some savings by the end of the month, aiming for £100.Student nurse 2018 to 2020

Hi,
I don't think you have to open an HTB ISA with £1200. I think it's advisable, to make the most of the first month but not compulsory. With the Halifax one you can only make one payment, up to £200, per month. Could you open one now and just put a small amount away each month just to get started? Good luck.0 -
New credit card balances (minus May interest):
Aqua - 77.17 (interest £4)
Luma - 148.09 (interest £4)
Capital One - 152.39 (interest £4)
Cash Plus - 165.43 (interest £15)
If I can find £45ish extra next month then I can pay off Aqua, then move onto Cash Plus as that is a fixed £15 a month interest.
Not applying for ANYTHING for the rest of the year, in Jan 2017 I'd like to maybe get a Barclaycard Initial or increase in Capital One credit. Not to use but to make my credit history look good.
I got part funding for uni for September 2016, need to find £556 before June so looks like I'm using my holiday money for this. Tried for a OUSBA account with the uni but was rejected. Last time I applied I had worse credit and got accepted. I can't be angry though as I could have been ask to pay my full fees or been on the newer funding system.Student nurse 2018 to 2020

Budget is looking good for the holiday next week, so looking forward to a few days away.
I have had THE call about my nurse training, and the interview wasn't as terrible as I thought it was. Any other year and I would have been one of the top scorers and been given a place but this year everyone was within a few points of each other and I just missed out.. Not too disappointed though, don't think the guy on my ward/floor got a place either as he is off sick so don't think he went to the interview. I really don't think I would have passed the whole sickness record part though.
Been told to keep in touch with them so they can help me out in the future. There is talk of band 4 roles appearing (hope these don't just go to HCAs with nursing qualifications from other countries who having converted them like last time) plus she will help me with other roles I can do with my degree which I shall have this time next year and wants me to apply again next year.
So plan is to apply to the following degrees next year:
Brighton BSc (Secondment if poss)
Surrey BSc (Secondment if poss)
Southampton BSc (no secondment)
Southampton PGDip (no secondment)
Surrey ODP
Potsmouth ODP
I just need to work out finances as the PGDip would be the ideal route if I can't get a secondment and I think next year is the year otherwise I'll have to think of something else. I WILL need to work to support myself though this training.
In other news, I'm waiting on one reference then I can start working at the Nursing home across the road part time.Student nurse 2018 to 2020

Sorting out my savings accounts today, I currently have the following:
Natwest online savings = £1160 (soon to be £556 due to uni fees)
Halifax web saver = £0.22
Halifax regular saver = £167 (soon to be £0 as money is for next week holiday)
Lloyds cash isa = £0.00
Aims:
Natwest = £1344 by end of year so £100 a month (holiday account)
Halifax web saver = every £10 sent to debt (OP account)
Halifax regular saver = £50 a month
Lloyds cash isa = unsure
I also have £150 going to various other pots for next years holiday. Going to need 1 extra shift a week (I think) to cover budget but it is do able. £444 needed to find but have only budgeted for the bare basic wage.
