My new steam mop arrived yesterday. It's a brand I've never heard of – Von Haus - but it was £50 reduced to £23 and the reviews were mostly good. I have wood flooring in the hall, I've used a normal mop and got down on my knees to scrub it but the bit near the front door never quite came up clean. I went over it twice with the steam mop and it looks new again
There's just me and miss tru here this morning so it'll be nice and quietScampi's refusing to get out of bed, lol. He does this every few weeks and it lasts for the day, he just wants to be left alone. I'll leave him where he is for now, he won't want to go out for a walk but I'll take him out later this morning, even if it's for just 15 minutes around the block. He'll probably be grumpy while we're out though.

Good Morning everyone,
and welcome home Gers, <<hugs>> for those in need.
Well the sun is up and shining this morning, more than I am as I have woken up with a bit of a sniffle I hope it doesn't develop as I am off on my spring break to Leek on Friday.Looking forward ,fingers crossed to some spring sunshine, and a few good walks .
Archers omnibus this morning for me as well .I am halfway through the War & Peace I Tivo'd and really enjoying it. Only five more squares and my charity blanket is done, so I may be doing that today.I have a line of washing to go out as well (My Mum would be spinning hanging washing out on a Sunday:):)) but yesterday it was too damp to hang out so it went on the airer in the conservatory. If it stays dry it should be dry by lunchtime .
Hope everyone has a good day whatever you are doing
Cheers chums

Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one, welcome back Gers, hope it does not take you too long to acclimatise to UK time.
Lovely morning here, washer going on as soon as I get out of my pit. OH is just getting dressed, Sunday is the day I get up and he has breakfast in bed too.
I think I may be putting the arch up this morning, the two climbing roses are climbing out of their pots!! Time they were in the ground and climbing up the frame work.
Spent yesterday afternoon hand quilting the cushion top form the next quilt group meeting. It's ages since I did any hand quilting. I cannot wear a thimble on the finger that is underneath the hoop, which means this morning I have a sore middle finger on my left hand. Some udder cream will soon put that right.
Rolled shoulder of lamb marinading in red wine for tonight's supper. Almost out of veg so going to have to brave a visit to Bingham at some point. Need enough to tide me over till the end of the month.0 -

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NARGLEBLAST have yourself a really lovely day xxx.
Good Morning everyone, lovely and bright here today but with a fierce old wind blowing out there and none too warm as a result of that. Housework and a bit of cooking planned for today, He Who Knows is heading to the allotment when he gets back from the Cookie walk and I'm making a KLADDKAKE (which is a Swedish mud cake) to have with coffee for the coming week. We're still lighting the woodstove in the evenings as the temperature drops and I'm really looking forward to the day when it warms up enough and we don't need to! DD2 and Zebra are still in the USA having a super holiday, DD1 is going to visit DD2s cats today and give them a bit of company, lovely neighbours are feeding them and keeping an eye out but I guess by now they'll enjoy a sit on a lap and some fussing. Other than that nothing planned except to enjoy Sunday, Love Lyn xxx.0 -
Candlelight and Lainey re:tartan, if you have access to Amazon Prime, watch Outlander, lots of horses too Lainey. The second series is just starting but the first was very good.
One warning, the sex is fairly explicit and there are some violent scenes, but it is very well done. It's been touted as the Scottish Game of Thrones but it is more historical than fantasy (albeit a bit of time travel thrown in). The acting is excellent and there are some big names in small parts (James Fleet, Simon Callow, Frances de la Tour in the second season).
No I don't work for them!0 -

I just got rid of the multifuel stove as it took up a lot of space and I had a feeling about it. When the builders were dealing with it they called me over to see that it had not been fitted properly and not capped off. They showed me the scorch marks on the walll!
It is just as well I am having a lot done to the downstairs as everything that is looked at is "unusual!" Is the word "bodged" unkind?
I now have a modern electric fire and there is space to put two recliners in and maybe a long sofa as well as the other furniture."This site is addictive!"

Candy dog is eating a littĺe better, now, even tnough the stroke has affected the left side of her face. It's so weird seeing her quiet and calm ! LW how is your staffy guest getting on? Have you a piccy of him ?:Dpollyanna_26 wrote: »The chugger episodes were foe , greenpeace and nspcc . Each one was verbally abusive and one actually grabbed my arm and said yeah f the world up and leave us to clean up your sh*t .
I'm another who won't give chuggers of any sort the time of day; I give regularly to my chosen charities (surprise, surprise, I specialise in animals) and give one-off donations as and when I can, but I will never, ever give my details to someone on the street or the doorstep. Indeed, we have a video entry phone, so I can tell cold callers to "foxtrot oscar" from the comfort of my lounge!Hard_Up_Hester wrote: »LW, have fun with your lodgers, how are you enjoying having Mr LW there full time? He's just been to Herr A on his own for some milk, butter and yogurt, so that I didn't need to leave Ollie on his own - Ollie's a bit of a wuss, despite being built like a brick outhouse.

Hi all,
Nargleblast happy birthday
Thank you all for your thoughts, it's nothing in comparison to what some are going through - good news is, though neck is still stiff, and I,m walking round like Kryton from Red Dwarf, it is a lot less painful X
We,re going to go for a drive later, need to get out of the house, need to catch up on washing etc first.
Dinner will be roast lamb, giant leg, but LO,s will be used through the week as Shepherds pie and possibly sliced to served with wild garlic mash, as I noticed its appearing in the garden
Just a quick note to Dumpling, I hope you didn't think I was being flippant with my Dale Winton comment, I think you are one heck of a lady overcoming your fears - little n often Hun xx
Have a chilled Sunday all xxNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!
