Hi
One of the things I always have with me is bottled water & other drinks. I do begrudge paying a fortune for basic drinks when I can buy the equivalent from pound land or home Bargains etc for significantly less money.

That is the whole point of this site that it is for everyone regardless of their circumstances. People ask for advice about £1million houses as they ask for advice about £50k houses.
What to take in a day bag is a passport and a credit card- it was a valid answer. You made it about saving money - not the OP.
We will just have to agree to disagree on this one.0 -
If you are going to the beach, a small can of talc is useful for getting sand off your feet.

A number of studies have linked talc to ovarian cancer and so I would be cautious. Inconclusive and mixed studies and Cancer Research UK says the risk is fairly small.
If you are male then talc away with vigour.June challenge £100 a day £3161.63 plus £350 vouchers plus £108.37 food/shopping saving
July challenge £50 a day. £ 1682.50/1550
October challenge £100 a day. £385/£31000 -

People actually have these things??
If I am going out I will sort a bag the day before but I don't have a ready made 'pick up and go' bag..
first aid kit lives in the car
I'd have clothes and wipes and drinks for the children
a picnic unless I fully intended to feed them in which case I'd have money for a cafe ..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Piriton if you have kids - they have a tendency to get stung/bitten. Painkillers/aspirin for the adults - nothing ruins a day out faster than a throbbing headache.0

The possible link between using talc and ovarian cancer has nothing to do with sprinkling talc on your feet.
Using talc to remove sand from your feet is an interesting idea - thanks to the poster who put it forward.
I keep a couple of raggedy old hand towels at the bottom of the beach/swimming bag for getting sand off feet.0 -
