    See post #2.

I recently saw Hotels.com offering room only at The Village in Cheadle for £32 a night. 10 minute drive to the airport. Decent quality.
Haven't heard of that hotel, I'll look it up later.
£32 sounds reasonable to me peacefulwaters

I used the airport's own meet n greet service for the car last August (we also flew from Manchester to Orlando), through Looking4Parking for a bit of extra discount :). I think this site (MSE) also has a discount link for Manchester airport parking.

We stayed at Rungar Lane North Premier Inn the night before our flight, it cost £35 for a family room for the night, plus £5 parking there for the night.

I've looked at meet and greet but i feel a bit uncomfortable handing the car and keys over to a complete stranger.
I know it's a service and they are professionals etc, but I imagine that they'll go on a road trip or something.!!!! Silly I know:D

All worries aside though it does seem to be a stress free service. Did you find the service good and would you use it again balletshoes?

....... I restrict family holidays to maximum 4 1/2 hr flights so never been faced with Jet Lag, I wouldn't fly anywhere further unless absolutely necessary.

odd choice of username then :rotfl:

Username has nothing to do with flying round the world, I needed a username for a computer game, it was a game that involved flying a spaceship, I was drinking a bottle of Stella a mate came up with the name. Sorry to disappoint you.
I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world

We have twice used the on site Clayton (was Bewleys previously) and found that excellent and we didn't think it was too expensive for accommodation and parking combined and we were away over 3 weeks last year when we went to New Zealand

I use Meet and Greet at Manchester airport all the time and never have an issue. You drive into a small car park right outside the terminal you are flying from and the car is photographed from all directions, for any damage..

You then park up, drop your keys off and walk the few yards into the terminal. The car is waiting for you in the same place on your return.

It is a great service and has good reviews.

If I fly from Liverpool, I use the VIP parking which is right next door to the terminal, 1 min walk if that to the check in desks.

I wouldnt worry really about it, they are good.

I don't relish the idea of hunting, firstly for a parking space in a massive car park and the long walk to the terminal, or hunting to find your car at the end of your holiday, when all you want to do is get home.

Thank you rusty boy that's good to know.

Another option to look at then, train prices seems to be all over the place at the moment.

It's just he return journey. It's quite long and dh is a little out off.

you could always book a day room for when you land at manchester on your return, get some sleep, and then travel home when your husband is refreshed.

its a difficult decision to make to be honest, as a non-local airport does rack up the expense, whichever way you do it unfortunately.

Is National Express coach out of the question? Even using the coach the day before, booking a Premier Inn at the airport that night, then taking the coach home again on your arrival back into Manchester after your holiday? Or even a combination of train there, coach home?
