Manchester airport

Personally I too would use the train.
I have complained to Arriva trains Wales before that it is cheaper to get to Manchester airport from South Wales than North despite it being double the distance. Use the train and book a hotel for the night before.0 -
I'm with wazza99 above, go for the Radisson Blu. Add in car parking and see if your flight has sunset check in the night before. When you consider what you are paying for the holiday dont skimp on the first day and make it a part of the whole experience.0

I don't think that trains from South Wales run directly to the airport any more
If not, its a simple connection along the way.
With advance tickets and a family railcard, it could be very cost effective as well.0 -

I must admit, I thought it was a little daft going by train, however, it looks surprisingly easy but I'm assuming from Cardiff Central Station, there seems to be options of a change at Wilmslow for Manchester Airport or Manchester Picadilly and change for Manchester Airport, whether it's cost effective or not against driving there and booking a hotel and parking deal, I don't know, all I know is that it costs the best part of £80 return for my Daughter and I to go to Cardiff from Didcot and that's not as far.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0 -

putting on my advance tix anorak, I found Swansea - Man Airport for about £80 2 adults, 2 children with a F&F railcard and Advance tickets.
However - advance tickets restrict you to using a particular train. Not a problem going TO Manchester, but not much use coming back from Manchester.
Then you're looking at £148.60 (from Swansea) or for an off peak return, or £140.80 (from Cardiff).
Would I fancy driving back down to South Wales whilst jet lagged to hell and back -- not likely.
The train could take the strain this time:beer:

Just to add that there is usually a "window" with Advance tickets from Manchester station so if your plane is late and you miss your train, you can get the next one. This happened to us last year as our luggage took so long that we missed our train. We had to hang around a cold station for a bit longer but we didn't have to buy new tickets."Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it. Don't wait for it. Just let it happen. It could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot black coffee."0

Yep advanced tickets restrict you so you need to allow for any delay on the return flight, that could mean waiting around and I hate waiting around, if I allowed 2 hours, that's 2/3s of the way home for me (Manchester Airport To Didcot) sticking to the speed limits, we often fly from Manchester.
I had forgot the fact that the OP was going to Florida, I restrict family holidays to maximum 4 1/2 hr flights so never been faced with Jet Lag, I wouldn't fly anywhere further unless absolutely necessary.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0 -

Ahh, very possibly. We've only ever booked those, so didn't think about other companies not offering it. Which is no good to the OP if First don't go to South Wales!"Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it. Don't wait for it.
