E don't laugh but, what about contacting the vets, they may know of a breeder, or try Parrot rescue. Failing that I'm afraid you're going to have to travel out of you're area.
I hope you manage to find a reputable breeder soon X

Thank you, we are going to ask at a couple of independent pet shops at the weekend, there is a vet nearby so will probably pop in there too.

Hope she is OK Nanny, I have heard of this myself but not known anyone with it, will keep fingers crossed it is not serious xx

Please keep it there, I know you're not far from us at the moment but I also know there is a hill in the way so hopefully these very dark clouds will not give us snow:eek:

Now, I am about to upset some people but we are struggling. We want to get a parrot and are struggling to find a breeder. We thought we had found one locally but are now suspicious as he says he does not keep the birds at home to avoid theft, and we would have to order one and either pick it up from him or have it delivered. We are not happy with that idea, we want to see the bird and the parents first. I think I have exhausted the online information.

You are right to be suspicious , we used to be in the bird business ,( equipment
not birds ) and baby parrots are taken from the wild , cruelly force fed and smuggled into the country in cardboard tubes.
Most do not survive and those that do are sold as hand reared from hatching,
It really is a cruel business:(:(:(

Please, can you tell me what to look out for.

I know people are against caged birds, but he/she would be very well cared for a looked after, hopefully better in our hands than another, and we really want to make sure we find some legitimate breeders.
