Why they didn't like it?

We had a couple come view our property 3 times in 12 days (20/3, 27/3, 31/3), they noted their interest, but have made no bid.
It's the first time selling a property, should my estate agent be trying to find out why they didn't make a bid? Just seems like that might be important to know. If there's something put them off, we might be able to remedy that for the next person who comes to look at it.

Have you asked the estate agent whether they have tried to find out?0
-
Yeah, I emailed them and asked them to find out, just haven't had any word back yet.
I'm just not sure if that's the sort of thing that they'd generally do or not.0 -
It's always worth asking your agents to get feedback from people who view the property. A good agent would be asking for this without being prompted, but if they haven't, ask them to.
I'm not sure it is a good idea to ask outright why they haven't made a bid - or at least, not as boldly as that! but certainly asking for general feedback, what they liked about the property, anything they didn't like or were unsure of. At the end of the conversation this might work up to askeing whether they expect to put a bid in.
31st isn't very long ago - maybe they are looking at other properties and haven't yet narrowed down to a first choice?
(You could of course post the rightmove link here and ask us for feedback, if you are feeling brave!)
ETA - not eveyone is willing to give, or is good at giving, feedback, of course. All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0 -
I would phone the agent rather than email. A good estate agent should be proactive about that and get back to you anyway.
Do be careful though, sometimes if pressed people will come up with a reason which is nonsensical, eg "doesn't have a garage" for a property that they knew up front didn't have one, simply because they think they need to come up with a reason, and it may be as vague as that it just doesn't "seem right" to one or both and that doenst seem like a good reason.
So dont take it too much to heart unless its something obviously fixable "hideous wallpaper" or " house was a tip"0 -
Take any feedback with a pinch of salt.
The parents recently sold but one comment from a previous viewer was the garden wasn't big enough.
Trust me, by anyone's estimate it was massive and for whatever reason they just made it up rather than divulge their true reasons for not offering.0 -

Yes, it's the sort of thing they would generally do. It depends on circumstances though. If they have offered on another house through the same estate agent, for example, the agent isn't going to ask them what they didn't like about yours.
Also if they've given a vague and fairly useless reason, they might not be prioritising feeding that back to you.
Just ask next time you speak to them.0 -
We've been looking for a house recently. Found that some estate agents will call or email and ask how we got on and others aren't interested.0
-
Surely the most common/likely reason will be that they just found another property they liked better, for any myriad of reasons.
It could be they found one in a bette( for them) area, or they liked just as much but was a bit cheaper.
Its worth asking for feedback but mostly its unproductive to try and apply logic to the whole nightmare called the property market!:A Goddess :A0 -

I quite like it! Random garden arrangement though.
31st really wasn't that long enough, as it's such a big decision - it takes time.0
