Best joint account just for bills?

Options
Hi.

I'm struggling to find a good joint account where myself and my partner can just use to pay our bills (mortgage, utilities etc). We want to keep our own current accounts and just pay money into the joint account every month.

Our bills will be roughly £750.

Am I right in saying that interest on the account won't matter as money will just be going straight in and straight out?

So that means an account that offers rewards such as Natwest Rewards or Santander 123 would be best? Anything that pays out on bills really? Natwest Rewards seems the best for us I think.

Just looking for some advice or a different way of thinking.

Much appreciated

either of those accounts pay cashback for bills but each have their own fees.

Natwest Rewards cost £3 a month and pays out 3% on certain DD with no monthly funding needed.

Santander 123 costs £5 a month and pays out between 1 - 3% on certain DD and has a £500 monthly funding needed.

So I suppose it depends if you will cover the fees on each account with your cashback.

123 does also pay out up to 3% interest on balance if you decide to start saving, and not just using it as an in and out account.

    Hi Robert,

Both Santander and Natwest have rewards but they come at a cost of a monthly fee. Only you know whether you will earn enough in reward to make a profit after the fee.

Depending on how long the money will be in the account, you could look at accounts that pay interest and earn on the days it is sitting in the account, or Halifax reward account gives you a fiver a month providing £750 goes in and at least 2 DDs goes out every month which would work for you if the money is just hitting the account and then out again.

Best joint account is the same as the best sole one:
