What details do you need to open the account? Just ID / Santander card or do you also need proof of address?0

If a santander customer which you need to be for this account you can open over the telephone, easiest take about 30 mins or go in branch with your debit card and probably stick it into those machines they have.

Just needed my debit card and had to PIN verify at a certain point.
Yes it's £750 per day with the gold debit and also increases the amount of cash you can withdraw from the cashier.
He also mentioned something about commission free withdrawals from cash machines abroad and other transactions, but I need to check the details as I thought I already had that from Santander machines - need to check if it's as good as the Clarity card.0 -
I decided to call them today. 25 minutes on hold was enough for one day so I hung up. I might go into my local branch one day next week. At least that was I'd have a clue where I was in the queue!0

Were you not given a 'ring back' option whilst holding? It lets you hold your place in the queue, whilst you hang up the phone and go and do something else for the 25 or whatever minutes until they ring you back.butterfly )i(0 -
You might be disappointed just turning up at your local branch expecting to get to see a rep to open the account. I was sent away with an appointment to come back in 3 days. If you can, try and phone the local branch to make a date and time. Local branch phone nos can be difficult to find.0

No. Just the 'Sorry we're very busy' message repeatedly.0 -

I could have sorted it out a couple of weeks ago. I went into the branch and was told that it would take 20 minutes to sort it out and there was only one other customer in the branch at that time. I didn't know how long the other customer was going to take and didn't have that long so declined.
I'm not currently working so I will probably go into the branch 'off peak' to see if they can help me. If not then I won't bother. They may well open it up to online applications in the near future (being as it's an online only account).0
