    The diesel/petrol thing could just be what the MOT tester put down. On one MOT once the tester put my petrol car down as a diesel but it was corrected on the following year MOT.

    Strange, the .gov Vehicle MOT History page shows it as a Diesel, whereas the Check Status page shows a petrol.

    Something dodgy somewhere.

    It may be that on a previous test it had been entered as a Diesel and the tester this time round didn't notice what fuel type that the MOT system came up with. Fuel type can be changed when starting a test.

    OR

    Given it's previous MOT history, it doesn't strike me as the best maintained car and it sounded rough when it was driven in.
