half of them are items you should be addressing in your day to day driving
simple things like washers not cleaning screen wiper blades obviously not cleaning screen bulbs blown exhaust blowing
your driveshaft has finally given up on the cover boots probably due to age
your rear axle has play necessitating a major job or a good second hand replacement

all these failures are commensurate with an older car and it would appear the mot garage is doing its best keeping dangerous cars off the road
it looks about £800 worth if you bring it in to me so car probably scrap as it sounds about an 04 plater
balljoint too.... on this car running with a balljoint with excessive play easily can make the wheel fall off as its a poor fit in the arm the best of times

    oh and welcome

The CV gaiters have a hole in them, or a minor split. amazing how some MOT s spot these miniscule holes. I would nt be surprised if they dont stab them themselves with a dart. The gaiters are cheap enough but fitting them is a real pain.. not for the DIY er. Lower ball joints is do able by the home mechanic altho they dont seem to be clear if its the joint or hub!. Seems like there are too many faults and its time to get rid, the corroded brake pipe is nt a hard job but not a DIY, job. problems come with bleeding the brakes afterwards with getting the bleed nipples undone especially on the calipers. I dont think the garage is conning you as its obvious you are going to dump the car..too much work needed. Sell the car on for what you can get, its not worth all the expense.

What makes you think your being conned? Because it failed? Much of which on stuff you can check anyway

Once the trailing arms have excessive play it's game over for old pugs and citroens.

An mot isn't an alternative to basic maintenance.

I'd say the only person that's been up to something is you, and what you've been up to is nothing, not maintaining it, and running an old clunker into the ground.

Firsty Thanks to those who have replied without nasty comments. This has been in my possession 2 years and has been regularly serviced at Halfords with new parts last year with a mechanic who is also aware of my style of driving etc. This has just been inspected by them again ( Person who done recent MOT was trusted due to ill health ) and they believe parts have been removed, on purposely damaged and confused as some items at first glance is actually fine?? Once again I appreciate everyone who wrote back but can confirm this has not been ran into the ground or no need to be in dispair when I am placing a claim with Small Claims Court for Negligence amounst other reasons x

MOT is not alternative and with proof of over £1200 in few months as recent as week previous to MOT being undergone and have receipts to prove.,

That may be so but how do you explain putting a car in for an MOT with lights not working, windscreen wipers defective and screen wash not working, things that are easily checked by anyone?
