The handmade face wipes sound good, Purplefairy. I've been thinking about sewing some little towelling ones, as would like to have something that isn't single-use, but is a little bit more scrubby than muslin cloths. I like the balm type cleansers though which sort of melt to oil when used & I think home made scrubbies would need a pretty hot wash to get that (plus make-up) out. I was thinking I could make enough for one a day, then pop them in a muslin bag for chucking in the washing machine. When I tried removing my balm cleanser with an ordinary face flannel, it just wouldn't wash out.
    I'll keep thinking.......

2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
    2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!

This is the pattern I used. But after a couple I just went with the flow. I’ve used cotton to make them and they’ve come out well. They’ll go in the cotton pillow case I cut up and sewed in to a bag to go in the wash so they don’t get lost. Cost pennies each and I’ve still loads of wool left over. Would definitely recommend.

Thanks for the link, Purps. They look pretty & much more sustainable too. I have only basic crochet skills, but I could make those. It's just going to come down to whether that oily cleansing balm will come out of whatever I decide to make them out of in the wash.

Nice idea. I have some cotton yarn so think I will knot some squares, or maybe crotchet as not sure I can crotchet to that design? Great idea, thank you, as between me and my girls we use a few of these. We usually use muslin cloths but this will make a nice change.

It's nice to do craft stuff - very rewarding. I am planning to have go at making face masks but have also ordered some online so will see how things go.
