Managed a run on Sunday and it was wonderful. First mile hard but felt great after doing nearly 4 when I was back. Really productive day too, lots of washing dried outside and food cooked up for the week ahead.
Still no progress on the thing holding the build up, oh well it's out of my control so I shan't stress about it.
Made a batch of chickpea curry for lunches in sc overnight. Smelt lovely this morning
Updated food spends sheet with outgoings from weekend, still a reasonable month considering big spend at wholesaler at start of the month. Hoping I can avoid going in April.
Have had car insurance renewal has gone up by about 15% but when I've done some comparisons online this morning, it's still the cheapest by over £100 so will let it renew once I've checked the finer detail to make sure nothing has changed. Have the money set aside but will increase the payment slightly to save for next year in our bills account
Few more pennies to 1p challenge :T0 -
Well done some good savings on the mobile and nighties, great that you have the money for the car insurance for the year. It will be good if I can pay this in a lump sum this year.
I hope the hold up with the building doesn't take too long to be sorted.
Hope you enjoyed your run, H x0 -
Oh my days, Purps, I'll never understand anyone who runs 4 miles FOR FUN!! I like walking (preferably not longer than 3.5 miles), gardening & dancing to old rock tracks, but running is something I'd only do if forced to do so, if for instance chased by mad bullock (which is something which actually did happen to me many years ago, my own fault for telling all my little friends it was a 'girl-cow' & they 'don't come after you'!
It's very satisfying getting stuff that's no longer required moved out of the house, isn't it? Even if it's not something which can be sold, I find a real satisfaction in getting another no-longer-used or loved pile of stuff cleared off to find a new home. I did heaps of ebaying leading up to Christmas, but am having a break from it for a while, as having also sold a lot of box loads to Ziffit, most stuff we need to clear now is more charity shop stuff, or frankly, the tip. We stuck a load of scrap metal from shed clearance by our front gate the other day & it soon got picked up by a local collector - one item, I swear it was in such terrible condition that if you went at it with a pea shooter you'd just end up with a big pile of iron filings, but they still took it! We are hoping to be in a position to have some serious work done on our house over the next year or two, so like you, it feels like progress to be clearing the decks a bit.

2) To read 100 books (29/100)

I tend to go through phases with fleabay too Foxgloves find if I do it all the time I loose the will with it. But in fits and starts it's ok and obviously good when money in = stuff out
As for running if you told me a couple of years ago I'd be running 4 miles for fun I would have laughed at you. Last year I was up to 10  I've a way to go to get back to that but I even surprise myself how much I enjoy it :rotfl: hoping for a shuffle tomorrow
Well it's pay day in the Purps household. Spent a very satisfying 45 minutes doing the big pay day shuffle this morning :A all pots topped up and truly satisfying knowing money is in the right place and despite car tax and insurance due we have the money saved :T so will be able to still do all the other things we do without going without.
Have set a new EF target as I reached the other one last month
I've got some other life admin to do tonight so cat has just parked himself on my lap and I'm going to get on with stuff.0 -
Sounds wonderful . Well done on sorting the pots.
I’ll join you on that run if that’s ok0 -
Know what you mean Foxgloves, eBay comes and goes for us too. Ditto decluttering. It’s partly why I put monthly income goals and decluttering goals in my signature here, as it helps to nudge me into action. But when there’s plenty on it’s the first thing to go by the wayside.0

I must swap the sim over in my phone, will add that to days list. Small shop required today but that should be it until we're back from hols. Will only need a small one.
Build still stalled, more paperwork to complete today and get in the post. I'm sure Easter will slow things down again in the world of red tape. Oh well, I can't do anything to make it quicker. Will just have to sit tight our end.
Hoping we might go and get a cabinet we need this weekend so we can finish off another room. That and some wood staining is required. It's all rock and roll here :rotfl: this month will be tight money wise as DH took some unpaid leave so we've got less income so need to cut cloth accordingly. So far, so good.0 -
Sounds good that another room will be finished, lovely when it all comes together.
Have a lovely day, H x0 -
Heading towards that mid month lull, but trying to keep things ticking over here. Spent much of last night (and will do the same tonight) labelling for a local charity sale. They get some, I get some and stuff gets out of the house. Win, win. Off to collect some hangers later for some other stuff.
Cabinet is half assembled as we realised when we got home we'd missed off 2 elements when collecting it. DH got them yesterday. He went to bed early as was up with the larks so no chance to build it last night. May have to wait until we're back from hols now but at least we have all the bits and it's part assembled.
Money looking tight as I thought but we'll be ok. We're away next week so will use holiday money saved for that. Won't be big spends as we're sc and taking food with us as we'll eat in and lots of visiting NT places with our memebership with a picnic and flask in tow :T
We've only a week when we're back from holiday until payday and we're all back at work/ school so it'll be fine.
Good news is I've checked my payslip and I'm going to be much better off this tax year now a car debacle has been resolved. They still seem to have taken another benefit off my tax code, but I'll save that in a separate account for when they remember I have it . I've updated my spreadsheet for next month and it's looks even healthier :T I've only done it for one month in case it changes (payroll not finalised yet)
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Have a great holiday PF0
