I can leave washing powder for a while as pot in new outbuilding is much fuller than thought, should do a few months. Happy days.
Lovely productive weekend. Mixture of quality family time, sorting, fresh air and managed to start the week on an even keel
Painting one wall of kitchen turned into painting the whole thing :rotfl: was much quicker and less frog like than I thought. Still need to put up 2 shelves but we are now in a position to do so easily. However, it really does look like a new room. Had the paint already so no spend there.
Made a massive batch of aubergine chilli on Sunday so that will do for lots of lunches, will portion and freeze what doesn't get eaten in next few days.
Did do a small shop as remembered chorizo was half price (74p) in L1dl so stocked up as it lasts forever (in theory) :rotfl: but really good for a quick yummy meal if I need to rustle one up out of no where.
Have friends coming this weekend, so need to think about food for us all for a couple of days. Frugally of course
No overpayment to anything apart from standard BTL one that's due tomorrow. Lull now until pay day next week.0 -
Still in that pre payday lull with not much going on in the bank account. But that's ok as there's no money going out either
Washing up to date and house still clean and tidy after visitors at the weekend. We managed a really good spring clean of downstairs with all the windows open -was lovely.
Have BT the cc card part of the car loan as the 0% deal is due to run out. Managed to get a card with no fee, so no further charges and it should be paid off by the time the deal ends :T
Had confirmation it's all gone throughjust need to double check the accounts are all straight.
Food spends reasonable still and have a stash still to work through in freezer, plus it's good having space in there should I need it for any ys bargains I might come across. Hoping to keep march spend down again.
Happy hump day, it's nearly the weekend0 -
Making further progress. 10 items listed on the bay. Another bag for the charity shop by the back door. 4 items listed on another site. They will go in charity bag if they don't go too. Have another bag of donations to a friend too.
Food spends remain low with the the veg box and fruit box helping massively. Although we have loads of pears now as we hadn't eaten the ones from 2 weeks ago. Although a crumble is on the cards this weekend
A veggie curry has lasted lunches when required this week and 2 portions for the freezer too.
Was contemplating going to the Swedish emporium this weekend for a storage unit when it dawned on me we had one we could repurpose :T will move it tomorrow. Shopping from home first.
Submitted meter readings today, hoping bill next week will be favourable. Spends this weekend should be low, no food required either. Will make a cake or biscuits tomorrow which will help lunchboxes next week.
Haven't run all week, hoping Monday will change that.0 -
I haven’t run for about 2 weeks either. Miss it. Do need to go this weekend and probably Monday. If I schedule it in am much more likely to go I find..
Repurposing and veg boxes. A winning frugal combination :j Well done
Have a great weekend

Good going with the veg box, we used to love waiting to see what would be in ours, the company have stopped delivering now which is a shame.
I haven't run for a few days, but dh and i are going to recce a race route tomorrow that involves lots of hills!
Have a good weekend, H x0 -
Still not been for a run but knew there would be no opportunity until tomorrow at the earliest. We'll see. Veg box was truly bountiful this week. Although I may pause the fruit one for in 2 weeks unless I can get through the pear and satsuma mountain before then.
I moved the unit and gave everything a good clean. Need to sort some more things out and a bit of juggling but will look lots better in the end. Need to try and sell the unit I've moved out, have listed on a couple of sites but will put on a few more.
£50 'compensation' arrived from a provider who messed up cancelling our policy. Will see if I can bank tomorrow. Today will be about leftovers and getting the fridge straight to make the working week easier. No need to batch cook anything as I have several portions in freezerfor lunches. Tea for me this week will be use up too.
Continuing to use stuff from my use up box, ground seeds and flaxseed added to overnight oats. Some sort of brown sugar substitute on top of my half a grapefruit. Win win.0 -
You've inspired me to restart my veggie box delivery PF. I used to get one delivered maybe 3 or 4 years ago but stopped when my budget got much tighter. I don't often buy fruit and veggies as the kids aren't keen, and I'm terrible for knowing what I need to buy so tend to do without. However, if I have them in then I suspect I will use them - especially as I always have plenty of meat in the freezer.
Great news on the compensation.:D
Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

It's definitely worth it cat we've had all sorts, including some I definitely wouldn't have bought in the shop so it has added to our breadth. Plus if you get anything new just put the item in to bbcg00df00d and it brings back all the recipes including that item, so no waste.0 -
Just waiting on someone to collect storage unit so hopefully that will be gone in the next half an hour :T lovely day, mix of getting sorted, sorting out a couple of bags for selling and a really nice afternoon out having a walk in some strange weather
I'll be in my pyjamas as soon as the unit has been collected :rotfl:

Nothing quite like a successful spell of decluttering, Purps. I used to wait till we had a big bag full for the charity shop, but now I'll drop off just one or two items if it means shifting some or other identified piece of clutter out of the house.2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever
