Hi
to cut a long story short I changed my bank account due to debt etc with the other one to set up a debt management plan. I contacted my work (NHS) to change my wages from going in to the old account after much faffing and having to go through HR etc they recalled the wages to send them to my new account. Now my wages are over a week late work are claiming that the recall has not yet returned the bank are saying the wages never arrived so they cant be recalled as there was nothing to recall. Anyway there is no sign of my wages arriving any time soon. As a result of this my priority DD have all bounced including my mortgage, my car, council tax, insurances etc. So inevitably I am now going to be charged. Is it likely if I go to the bank once I have been paid and explain the situation they may not charge me? as it stands I am looking to be charged at least £50 by the bank (Lloyds) plus the charges from the companies themselves which I could really do without any advice is most welcome thankyou

If bank says they never hit the account you need to go to your NHS trust payroll, they for failed payment will have to pay all your bank and account charges also.
I would follow the complaints process for staff complaints process at your NHS trust in writing.
When a apology comes forward for error after payment, submit this to all your accounts and ask them to not place late payments on your internal or external credit file given your employer is at fault, not you.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -
Show Lloyds proof that your wages were late through no fault of your own and I'm sure they will help you with the charges as a first offence.
If they have already gone through claim them back from your payroll department.0 -
Are the bouncing DDs drawn from the new account or the old one?
It would seem odd to have had time to successfully transfer over a collection of DDs from old to new without being able to ensure wage processing was moved, how long was there between your notification to your payroll department and the scheduled pay date? If you gave them adequate notice then they should be held accountable....0 -

Hi they are the new account, as it was all a bit rushed due to the debt plan I let them know at work 10 days prior to payday (early due to bank hol) they said it should be ok however they are now arguing that they could only send the recall the day prior to payday even though I had requested it 9 days prior. they are now saying that they cant contact their bank until its been 7 working days which will be Tuesday next week! then hopefully if its all ok they can potentially pay me next Thursday! that will make it over two weeks late :eek:Love my DMP left to pay £0/ £10162.51

Sorry to ask the obvious but have your wages definitely not hit your old account? My previous bank claimed that the money never hit the account as the recall took it back prior. Both my accounts with them are still at the Same level so the money had definitely not paid any of them,. My work didn't confirm this in writing unfortunately:/ as part of my DMP I cannot take out new credit
I think it's going to be a case of wait and see and try and argue the charges away on unexpected circumstances. I'm contemplating going to the bank tomorrow to see if they can stop charging me for anything else that's inevitably going to bounce

NHS pay car finance charges then. Provide proof and request a cheque as on your wage someone will probably put it through as taxable then you would need to claim the tax back from that other gov dept...HMRC
