Top ISPs, IMHO, in no order of preference are:

Pipex, Eclipse, Nildram, Plusnet, Wanadoo, Zen, Virgin, Metronet.

Just out of interest, I compared all of these ISPs on https://www.adslguide.org

Zen came out on top in every category (speed, reliability, customer service) every month for the last six months over all of them.

Before shelling out for unlimited, do the maths. Have a look back at your emails and see how big they really are. 2Gb is one hell of a lot of word documents! If you've been using Dialup I doubt you use anywhere near 2Gb a month - that equates to 56k at full speed for 80hrs - or actually over 100hrs when you take losses into consideration.

I'm now on 2Mb Freedom2Surf £14.99 for 2Gb, £1.50 for each extra gig. Formerly on unlimited 512k Nildram (very good btw) at £22.99

Used 2 special offers they had.

Joined when they had extra 12 months free - so got 24 months for the price of 12.
That cost £180 for a year for a 512k service. (normally £15/month but only £7.50 when extended into 2 years for free)

Only been with them a week and got an invite to upgrade to 2MB for the remainder of my contract for a one off payment of JUST £25 !!!!!

So 2MB unlimited for 2 years for £205 - think that makes it £8.54/month !

Lets see how long they last before they go bust or put caps in place.

I give it 6 months tops.

    But look at their stats:-
    http://www.adslguide.org/isps/compare.asp?e7even=ON&f2s=ON&cmp_action=Compare

And that's before they overload due to cheap offers. Also F2s have a monthly contract, so I can leave when i wish.

They've been doing it this way since 2003 - can't see any reason it should change.

Yes but what your graph is missing (last data March) is the fact that they QUADRUPLED their network capacity and increased its resilience in APRIL !

And re the monthly contract - if you're still with them in 12 months time (at same price) and NEVER need more than 2 GB in a single month - you'll have spent what I have but I'll have another year on better terms TOTALLY FREE !

Also if anything should happen "pear shaped wise" with e7even, or even what could be considered "breach of contract", since I paid over £100 with a credit card, Mastercard will be giving me my money back !
